This ride is a great railroad. I always used to take it to get a glimpse of my # 1 coaster Drachen Fire when it was SBNO. Very good transport ride that goes to all corners of the park.

I dont think theres ever anything wrong with an amusement park train ride...no, wait, there is. If its too short or theres nothing to look at, then you have a problem, but this particular train ride did not have that problem at all. It was a very hot Virginia day when we went and it was nice to relax on the train ride. Whether it was going over the bridge and being able to get a great view of the water or seeing a building or park remnants that you may not have gotten the chance to see otherwise, this train was cool. It gets my stamp of approval.

By far the best train ride around. Use this if you need to get around or you need a rest. The trains are beautiful and the whole ride is very relaxing.

You definatly get a great veiw of the park from the train, and going over the bridges and seeing down the Rhine River is a nice sight. Also helpful in gettting around the park.

I am debating this rating a lot. I do have a reputation (or so Ive read) of being conservative with my 10s, which I cant deny, and I am stetched between a 9 and a 10 here. First, I would have to say that any park with a well-kept steam train is ok in my book, and such locomotives should at least get a 8. I took one ride, from Festia Italy to New France, and I enjoyed my ride a bunch. The one bad thing was that I went in the dead part of late winter, so I didnt get to see the worlds most beautiful park at its peak, which more than anything is why I settled with a 9 until I get to visit during the summer or fall. The ride was still fun, going through the woods and getting a glimpse of the Clydsdale stables. The rest of the route looked good, especially those picturesque bridges. Now for the locomotives, the part of the ride which makes it so great. The one that I actually rode was the Alpen Express, which was beautiful, but when I caught my eye on Der Hochbeinige firing in the New France station, I was in awe. It was one of the most beautiful trains I had ever seen, well kept and still shining in its vivid crimson and gold-trimmed decor. It was truly love at first sight, and I was fortunate enough to see it running later in the day, chugging along majestically, but unfortunately, I did not get to ride it personally, only its sister. For now, I will settle with a 9, but do not be suprised if I visit in the summer and bump it up to a 10, because the trains were up to par with the Dollywood locos, but the ride just couldnt compare due to the time of year, which yall have to take into consideration when reading this.

Great Train ride that showcases the beauty of the park well. I love the two giant trestles over the Rhine River. Id say its better than the WDW Railroad, and certainly has a more interesting layout.

Also uses real steam locomotives, so that is a plus.

Probably one of the best train rides in any parks. Beautiful trains, going through a beautiful park. They dont take too long, three stations, more than 1 train running, what more do you want? Its a nice relaxing alternative to walking around the park, but also a nice little ride to get a view of the park. You even get to see things you dont normally see like the Clydesdales out in the grass. At Howl-o-Scream, dont miss this as the Legend of Sleepy Hollow attraction!!

Im rating this as a 10 not for being the best ride in the world, but for being the best of its type. The engines of these trains are really nice, and the cars are very wide and can handle alot of people. The scenery along the ride is beautifull, and it really shows off why the park has been rated "most beautifull park in the country" 12 consecutive times. The 2 trestle bridges are the best part of the ride. Riding this train is one of my favorite ways to pass the time when its raining.
