The West Coaster was ok, nothing to write home about, but it wasn't horrible by any means. I will say this, though: I have ridden kiddie coasters that were more intense than this.

This ride is okay. The line is long since they send you out twice and the queue goes right next to the brake run so that just about shatters your ear drums. As for the ride itself it was smoother than I thought and it had two good pops of airtime. The ride is supposed to take your video while you ride but it didnt work that time around.

One good pop of airtime, thats it. The ride has a horribly slow pace and only speeds up for a short time in between helixes and after the second helix. The coaster was filthy and is poorly maintained. Ive been on more thrilling family coasters than this. Im subtracting a point for having a seat that smelled like urine.

Hmmm, what can I say about the West Coaster? Well, it is a roller coaster, so thats a plus! The train climbs an approximately 50-foot lift hill, then goes through a spiral at an extremely slow speed. You do, though, then get two nice little drops that provide some negative Gs, followed by another spiral (a little quicker this time) before reentering the station. It was kind of like an adult version of a kiddie coaster layout. In all honesty, this coaster wasnt that bad. You can see the entire ride from the pier, so you know exactly what youre getting into. It is a fun ride for pretty much anyone to enjoy, and I was watching people on board the trains as they pulled back into the station, and it really did seem like everyone was having a great time. This coaster (along with all the other rides at the park) are built on an actual pier that extends out a bit over the ocean. Add that to the fact that you get two circuits around this thing, and you have a coaster that is a pleasant ride experience rather than an intensely thrilling one.

A bit of a waste really. There is one surprising pop of airtime but the rest of the ride is thrill-free. The most disappointing thing is that it doesnt even interact with the surroundings. It would be nice if the helix was over the water, or the drops looked like they were plunging towards the pier. You do get two trips around the circuit, but I think this is to stop customers from demanding their money back.

A funky little design. It seemed to be purposely design to minimize thrills to reduce screams in a courtesy nod to the residential neighbors. Out of the station to a helix - a couple of bunny hills - a helix - back in the station - and away we go again. I gave it an extra point just for giving me two circuits for the price of one.
