Wow....... This ride is a very odd lil contraption. It looks pretty high maintnence and if I were the owner of the park I would think its more trouble than its worth. On the other hand, its quite an exciting and fun ride; your winding through a twisted slide layout down a very vegitatious mountian completely out of control, getting splashed all over while going through the tight turns. Quite honestly, I thought that there was a posabilaty that we could flip over and that is what makes it so intense. I heard/saw on the T.V. special about Dollywood that the ride has to get its rubber boats replaced often because they get so warn down, but it cant cost too,too much hopefully.I hope this ride isnt closed because of so many costs for maintnence because its a BLAST!

the walk is way to long and the wait is always long i waited an hour and 45 minutes , it was fun you get really wet on the second turn there is sometimes when you feel like your going to fall out but you wont .

One of my top water rides. The amazing feeling of flying down a mountain in a water toboggan is very unique. If you can get a few heavy riders on with you, youll swear you were gonna fly off the slide as the ride progresses and picks up speed. Its a shame that we dont see more parks making rides similar to this one.

Interesting water ride. Very fun, and due to weight it can be different every time. The big drawback is the very long walk to get to it, you have to walk uphill the entire length of the ride. A set of stairs would make this much easier.

Unique is the best description. It is thrilling and makes you think youll flip for sure. Wish it ahd an elevator to the top, though.

This ride is so much faster than one might expect. It flies through the turns and rides very high through the banks. Sometimes it feels like it might flip over adding to the thrill-factor. Riders get pleasantly wet but not uncomfortably soaked which is nice. Dont miss this fun ride.

Easy. Breezy. Beautiful. Whoa! WET! If any water ride has ever scared the crap out of me and come as close to a coaster as possible, the Slidewinder is the clear cut winner in this race! Is there even any question why this was voted best non-coaster ride in the world? I think Tomb Raider has given it some competition and I have no clue why more of these werent built at parks everywhere. Thank goodness it has its uniqueness at Dollywood though as it really fits into the atmosphere extremely well.

Slidewinder is one thing that makes Dollywood so special and something that you can rarely find at other parks. Its hard to find a "water coaster" or ride in general where you can actually feel the speed as furiously and the out of control feeling as you do through this ride. Flying through the last drop makes for an excellent headchopper effect and the claustrophobic atmosphere through the rest of the tunneled tube really gets your heart pumping. All star water ride for the park and one of the best non-coaster rides in existance.

One of the best rides at Dollywood. Last time I was there I thought our boat was going to tip over because it was hauling down the chute so fast. Its also a really wet ride. I dont recommend screaming on the way down because youll get a mouthful of water. One warning though: it is quite a long walk up the mountain to get to the slide. I think its worth it though.

Very unique, very fun...once you get to the darn thing. Take hiking boots and prepare for fun!
