I think its a great falls ride, with good themeing, and alot more thrilling to guests who are newbies to the ride, and used to Country Fair Falls. The only reason the ride doesnt get a 10 for me, is how excellant other falls rides can be, this is great, but Magic Kingdoms Splash Mountain sets a very high bar when it comes to these rides. Also, Dudley Do-Rights Ripsaw Falls is another ride that is hard to beat.
This is one of my favorite flume rides I really enjoy the scenery and theming I also like getting wet on a hot day. The more people you have in the boat the more wet you get.
Neat little contraption. Bumpy at times. The theming is really what makes the ride until the drop. You have a couple (close encounters) with some old saw mill machinery. Sometimes the line is so short that the operators will let you go on through without getting off. But all in all one of the best water rides out there. With a 60 foot drop, you can say what you want to, but until you see it then it doesnt sound that great. The operators are really friendly and helpful if you need assistance with getting on. I think thats what keeps people coming back to Dollywood.
A relatively under-par log flume. The ride is one huge design flaw! The boats are not properly designed for the track. Every time there was a a curve in the track, we would crash right into it! The rest of the ride was O.K. The chain lift is great because the ride can now clumb to the top at a fast and safe pace. The drop was a lot of fun and wo didnt get too wet. Overall the ride was on par with other log flumes but this was by far the bumpiest one I had ever been on.
This is a great water ride! The themeing cannot be matched, the overal look is great and the drop is big, giving a great splash that gets you wet, but not overly so.
It was fun im glad its just not a hill and a drop and it had ok theming but i really didnt get any airtime on the drop and i got wet on the big drop i dont know why everyones saying you dont get wet andwhat do yall mean by superflume?
At first I thought "shoot the chutes", but after riding this, I agree with the "super flume" descrition. A wild and steep drop caps off this great flume. While the drop does not get you all that wet (even with those cannons), if you are in the front seat, the swell coming over the side af the bottom of the first little dip can soak you.
I prefer this ride over other shoot-the-chutes because this ride is actually more than just a lift hill turn around and drop. Unique theming is trademark just like everything else at Dollywood. This ride lacks a bit in the actual getting wet part, so dont expect to cool off on this ride on hot July days.
This log flume has a great drop. The sawmill theming is an added bonus. This is a much better flume than Country Fair Falls, but its not quite as good of an overall water ride as Mountain Slidewinder. Definitely worth a ride or two per trip.
This ride would succeed with its theming only. It is a very interesting ride that makes you relaxed, so the drop is more suprising. I agree that you dont get wet with the splash, but the 2 times I rode it there was a fat guy on my side of the boat and it was tipped to one side letting water gush in on us.
