Good ride. It gives great views of animals. The poacher part is corny though.
A good ride spoiled. I wish Disney would let go of the idea that every ride has to be the same shared experience for everyone. Rather than try to recreate a safari with a story line and a motion simulation, I would have rather had a smooth track and the ability to see animals and take pictures instead of having my back put out of joint every other foot along the ride. I could swear a large percentage of animals I saw were fake, which didnt help.
Good animals/environment but kind of dull
I thought Kilimanjaro was an enjoyable ride, but thats about it. There didnt seem to be a ton of animals, and the ride was about as dull as Rhino Rally. At least it lacked the cheesieness to an extent, and the lands seemed to be much better. Overall, just an ok ride in an ok park.
One word to describe this attraction- Incredible. From the moment you step foot on the Safari bus you actually feel like you are roaming the African Plains. It doesnt even look like Disney created the attraction, its that realistic. No, animals are not caged in for your viewing. Rather, you have these beautiful wild animals walking around in their natural habitats. Some of the animals you may see on the Safari can only be seen in Africa and you may not have the chance to see them in a typical zoo. Your Safari guide is not only knowledgable, but also very amusing. I can not sit here and say that this attraction feels like your on a real safari because pretty much you are on one. Dont miss it!
This is one of the best rides at Animal Kingdon, if not all WDW. Ive been on this ride twice, once in 1999 and again in 2005. However because it features live animals, the ride was different enough each time to keep my interest. The best to ride is first thing when the park opens because the animals are more active, and the line isnt as long as later in the day. This is the ride that Walt Disney orignally intened the Jungle Cruise to be. It is nice to see that at least in some ways his spirit is stll guiding things.
You will likely to find more animals around in your local zoo. By the way this zoo which inhabit fake dinosaur charges you 60+ dollars per ticket. Well I give it a 6 cause it is not as stupid as fake dinosaur ride in a park focus on real creature.
I loved this ride!!! It was pretty much a walk on since we went straight to it after we entered the park and we figured all of the animals would be active. I loved the enthusiasm of the tour guide. She made it seem like we really were in Africa on a safari! All of the animals were awake and we got to see all of them up close. The twist to the ride was that there were poachers around and we had to help find them. At the end we drove past the camp and then "helped save a baby elephant". Kinda cheesy but i loved the broken bridge part! Kilimanjaro Safari is definetly a must ride in Animal Kingdom if u love to see wild animals in their natural habitat!
I have never been one to like going to a zoo and wasnt very interesed in this ride... but it surprised me because it is great. So many different animals and they are all so close.
Ahh...driving around for weeks in the savannah on a safari. Well...the story its supposed to be weeks. It lasts about 8 mins. Its awesome how they have real african animals and plants there. This is one of my favorite rides at Disney World. Most cast members do a great job on the talking. There are a few surprises along the way. By the way, dont lift your camera...or child...out the window. Thats really dumb (Ive seen it before.)
