This was a good ride with good speed and hills...But the best in the Park belongs to KINGDA KA!

This ride remains #5 on my list but its still gut wrenching and certainly an experience. The floater air on the secondary hills arent anything to get too worked up about, but at least its air. That first drop was best of course. You know, all the anticipation on the lift really pays off. Great hammerhead and big drops, but the spiral is the best thing other than the first drop. One of the better thing this ride has to offer is the train. Intimidating it was, as if it was only the wooden chair Im sitting in. The lines are usually said to move fast, but my last line was pretty long, at least an hour. Last but not least, I lost my stupid hat on the first drop. I was thankful for that, as it was a pain in my neck literally. Overall, top notch coaster, but it cant compare to El Toro or others.

VERY disappointing. Apollos Chariot was much better. This ride never gives me much airtime and has a weak ending. I even like Arrow Magnum XL-200 better then thisthing. The worst of four Hyper coasers that I have ridden.

This is an amazing ride! IMO this ride has the best location out of any other ride at Great Adventure- its isolated in its own little corner in the woods, so no ugly parking lots, etc. After the first drop all you see is Nitro, trees, and more Nitro- absolutely nothing else. If the park ever expands some more I honestly hope they dont build anything in or near "Nitro Forest". Anyway, back to the actual ride- Its very tall and the lift takes you up very slowly, building up the anticipation (and offering a pretty decent view as well!). The seats are extremely comfortable (more comfortable than the chair Im sitting in right now, in fact) and open, and the restraints feel very secure without being constricting or uncomfortable. This allows you to freely put your hands up the entire ride, even on the first drop (which I couldnt even do on rolling thunder!). The first drop is incredible- the wind practically makes your eyes water. The next hill offers a lot of airtime, and it takes your picture here as well (the flash looks really cool at night!). The helix is amazing, and even though you arent it almost makes you feel like youre upside-down. I was craving a little bit more airtime, but not enough to make me lower the rating to a 9. Be sure to ride in the front and/or back rows- trust me, its worth the extra wait. A must ride for anybody and everybody who sets foot in Great Adventure!

Again I have to rate another Great Adventure coaster a 10, this coaster is simply amazing! Its as smooth as a whistle, and packs wicked airtime. The camelbacks on this thing pack serious airtime, and because of the minimal restraits, you feel every bit of it. Especailly right at the mid-course block brakes, they slow you down, and then without a moments notice you all the sudden plummet into the first bunny hill, talk about flying out of your seat. When I rate rides I rate them on Airtime, Speed, and Length. This ride meets all critera for a flat out 10.

This is a great hypercoaster. While this isnt nearly as good as S:ROS at Six Flags New England, its still a fun ride with plenty of airtime. If you can only go on a few rides at great adventure, this should be one of them.

Another one of the few 10s I will have to give out. My favorite types of seats on the planet. The line moves so quick because it seats 36 people. If it is filled all the way expect only an hour wait if it does not brake down which I have only seen twice. Once apon arrival and once on the ride which was wicked awesome. Well to start the ride off you make the little turn off to the lift hill. The hill moves slow and you get an incredible view of the park and the water tower. ( I know the water tower is lame) Well the drop is as smooth as can be and you go soaring up the next hill which gives you crazy airtime. Then I believe you get your picture taken and you drop again. Eventually you hit the helix which is bone jarring as in amazing. You eventually hit all the camel backs which have excellent airtime and negative gs. It feels as if you are hovering. Then you stop and applaud the ride ( Sarcasm) That ride is top notch so I will settle with a 10.

My preference lies with the coasters that do all sorts of nutty inversions or deal with extreme speed/height, but I have to admit Nitro packs a real punch. First off, I agree with other reviewers here who talk about how scared they were with the minimal restraints. Sorry, but the first time I rode this, I sat at the end of a row and Ill flat-out admit it -- It made more than a bit uneasy (to this day, I refuse to sit on the end again). The restraint, though comfortable, is a clam-shell design that comes over your lap. Thats it. No lap bar. No harness. Nothing. You feel every inch of that first drop, and the ride doesnt let up from there. After a few twists and turns, we got to the helix. You could feel the Gs, and my vision actually got sorta cloudy while we were whipping through this thing. The series of hills at the end result in some serious air time. One impressive thing about this ride (although there are many) is how long it lasts. I dont have the exact time for a typical ride, but its definitely worth the wait. Were not talking some 30-second ride here, folks. Although I debated what to give this ride, I opted for a nine because I dont have any of the other "name" hyper coasters (MF, AC, et al) to put this up against. Id like to think that, as much as my enthusiasm is for this ride, theres a hyper coaster out there thats even better. Still, thats my issue, not yours. All I can say is ride this and see for yourself.
