This ride was fun, rerideable, has a large capacity, and long ride duration. It has also a few things that make it unique. It is located on a lake which adds to scenery. The operators that work on each hill throw water at you even if you tell them not to so watch your back. Also there are people that spray water at you for 25 cents with water hoses so be prepared. This ride is a classic at Great Adveture and has been in the park 32 years.

When I visited Great Adventure in either its first or second year, the Saw Mill Log Flume was the premier ride of the park. Okay, the Giant Ferris Wheel might have been the simbol of the park, but it was the log flume that people ran to when the gates opened in the morning. Well, times have changed... coasters have gotten bigger and the population is harder to thrill, but the saw mill log flume is still a fun flume ride. Ive been on a few flumes that have one drop and many that have two... but I dont recall any others that have three. Granted, the first two are small and dont get you very wet, but they are still fun. The water also flows at quite a pace. And if the splash down doesnt get you wet, some one with a quarter mannning the water cannons just might.

The Saw Mill Log Flume is an interesting log ride. Except for the queue line and station, there is no saw mill theming. It goes up a lift and meanders slowly along, reasonably high above the edge of a lake. The lake is on the outskirts of the park as it is, so the whole ride has a somewhat removed and relaxed feel to it, which is kind of nice. This elevated flume occupies the majority of the rides duration. It then goes down a small drop, then another one, returning to ground level. It then travels up a second lift to immediately go down the "big" drop. Its a decent sized drop that provides a good splash, but it also travels under a bridge that has spouts on it for onlookers to blast the logs with even more water. That was the most soaking part! An overall nice diversion for Great Adventure. Try to squeeze it in between all the big rides.

This ride has been here since 1974 (I think), and its still a fun ride. Youre high above the lake for most of the ride with some smaller drops. After the second lift is the biggest drop on the ride. Without any restraints, people somehow are able to stay in the boat (log?). The lack of restraints scares some people. Yesterday, I spent nearly all of my quarters on those water cannons which soaked people. I also got squirted by someone, probably for revenge. This ride usually has some pretty long rides on hot days, but the lines will be short on colder days. (you know why) If the line isnt too long, give it a shot. Its not the best ride around, but SFGA has kept it up for 32 years. Lets hope it doesnt leave us.

This is a good log flume. It has a nice setting in the woods and over the water, and I like how theres 3 drops. You dont get wet. You will get some drops of water. But if your lucky, youll get hit with those 25 cent water guns. But be warned. This ride ALWAYS has a huge line. Expect almost the whole queue under the roof to be full. But its a Great Adventure classic.

This is just an average log flume, but there are some factors that spice it up a bit. First of all, the location is actually on a lake- very cool. Second, The operators who work at each drop are pretty funny- some of them will throw cups of water at you (even if you told them not to) so watch your back! This has happened to me 2 years in a row now. On Saturday we rode this just before it got dark so we were freezing, lol...and to top it off we got soaked with those 25-cent water hoses, number three on the list. So these factors are making me raise the rating from a 6 to an 8. Its pretty fun, but not worth a long wait- only go on if you have a fast pass or a very short line!

A pretty good flume. Unlike many, which have ultra-simple designs, this meanders around a lot, and has two mini drops before the big one. The "big one" isnt huge, but its ok and it gets you fairly wet. This does what a flume ride is supposed to do, and does it well.

ive heard some people say u dont get wet at all on this ride what are they talkin about i got soaked! ok mabe it wasnt because of the ride. but because of the rain. i got really wet because it was pouring when i rode it. it was nice and partly cloudy and we just waited about a half hour for it because it was so hot then it started raining! when i say raining it was pouring. they shut down the ride because they thought it was gonna be a thunder storm and we didnt want to put our half hour wait in vain so we stayed there and once they found out it wasnt gonna be a t-storm they started running everything again and we got way more wet from the rain then the ride. as a matter of fact. the ride didnt get us wet at all! except for when we were shot by those water soaker things behind us. Overall this flume was boring and u didnt get wet from the ride. not that great of a flume.

Best part of this ride is the trip near the lake. I got lightly splashed with 2 of us on board, but I did see some people who looked like they got soaked. No real theming to speak of. They need to install some fans under the queue roof. The humidity was terrible. The main drop is okay.
