This is a really great ride. The first drop is really instense and really fast. The first time i rode the ride the helix gave me black spots in front of my eyes but i havent gotten that again.
If you go to SFMM make sure you ride this ride.
Was at SFMM this week and rode Goliath last... It was a slow day after I learned I dont handle extreme coasters as well as I used to anymore. However, even in my slightly unstable-stomach-state, there was nothing about Goliath that made me feel I was going to black out, which is funny really, because of all the hype on this site, I almost didnt ride it. The drop on the Desparado at Primm/Stateline is more intense. Its a good coaster, though.
Overall, Goliath is a great ride although there seems to be something missing. After the turn around, there are some decent air time and laterals but does not seem to have the G like Millennium Force or Magnum. I like the first drop into the tunnel. This ride is just beyond my top 10.
BORING! Whats up with the blackout thing! Goliath is fast and high, but there are no forces whatsoever, besides slight laterals and slight G-s. You experience more G-Forces flopping onto a sofa then riding Goliath (IMHO), and theres no airtime. You want airtime, go to the DBH. You want height, go to MF. You want speed, go to TTD. You want G-Forces, go to BTR. Goliath in Six Flags Holland was better than the American version. Goliath just wasnt that appealing to me.
Awesome ride i wish they would build something this tall at park up here in Washington. The first drop and the g turns are the best parts. Especially when your screeming and you cant here yourself scream because of the g-forces is so awesome.
There is nothing scary about Goliath. just a few bi drops.
This gets the "Lives up to the hype" award for SFMM. This is one intense ride! The first drop is amazing, and the helixes really pound on the Gs. It was also very smooth, which I find should be in all excellent steel coasters.
Definately a very good hyper. The height is very good, and the helix at the end is very powerful. I got blurred vision every time I rode it at that part. The speed is incredible. The theming is also not that bad considering its Six Flags. Overall, you must ride this ride when you go to MM and Im sure that you will probably re-ride as well.
i was TERRIFIED to go on this ride because its so tall and the drop looks so intimidating. i felt no uneasiness during the drop and was disappointed. i wasnt a fan of the helix because i dont like the feeling of such extreme gs that you feel like youre going to black out. i think this coaster is definitely overrated. the first drop needed to be slightly less of an angle to really be thrilling.
This ride is one of the best that Magic Mountain has produced in some time. Yes, the
scenery is not Disney, but it has more potential than any other ride at Magic Mountain
except maybe for Bat Man. The first drop makes waiting in line worth while. At the top
you look down and see a little hole. The hole looks the size of a pea. You know that you
are going to go right into that hole. As the tunnel becomes bigger as you fly down the hill
you begin to think that you will not fit. But then you go in and than out. The large Helixes
at the end throw you to one side of the car as you hands and arms become pressed to your
lap. Theirs no feeling like this. While this ride is not good for children it is worth your
whole day at Magic Mountain if you are an adult. While I give this ride a 10 I do not put
it in my top 10 ride. This is because it does not meet my terror factor as some of the other
rides. While ridding Goliath terror never came over my body as other coasters like X have
done.
