Lots of airtime, and pulls some good laterals, I loved it!!!
very old, but very fun. i loved the double drop, it gave some great airtime! some good headchoppers, and a nice underbanked helix at the end
John Miller + Herb Scmeck (rebuilt) + no brakes = Great Ride. There are more lateral gs on its helix than on either helix on SROS. Lots of air, some rough (good) turns, and non-stop action. If they would use the original style PTC lap bars it would be a 10.
A great old woodie. Nice air throughout. The double up and double down near the turn around really make this woodie one of a kind. The helix at the end is a great way to finish a great ride. It provides tons of lateral Gs.
The wild one was really cool but it really jerked ya around. You could see a lot of the park though.
Great airtime, good lateral gs, headchoppers, this woodies got it all. The second drop through the typhoon sea coaster is the best.
Its been around a long time and it stills pumps out the thrills! This was my third favorite ride in the park, S:ROS and Batwing being 1st & 2nd. Delivers some air, headchoppers, and a nice helix.
great woodie at SFA, roar was definately better. but this one provided some good thrills and the final helix was nice.
A good classic woodie. Originally named the "Giant Coaster," it once resided at the now defunct Paragon Park at Nantasket Beach, Massachusetts, where it was ranked amoung the top 10 roller coasters in the country in the late 70s. The relocator only paid $25,000 for it at auction, and then moved it to Largo, Maryland at a cost to the park of only $1.5 million, saving the park over $3 million compared to the cost of a new woodie. The final helix was rebuilt then from the original plans. The original helix had been removed at Paragon Park because of fire damage.
(Updated 5/28/2002)
Relocated from Paragon Park in Hull Mass and renamed "Wild One", this coaster is a "classic" (by my definition, not ACEs) wooden out and back. There are several good moments of air time on some of the hills and some absolutely insane ones on others, especially on the return trip. The helix at the finish also has some very wicked lateral g-forces.
