Nice. Especally when you remember that its only one of two coasters in the world with such a uniqe combo of wood and steel.
Personally i think it is the best coater at Valleyfair, way short, but way fun. Wild Thing is just too boring for me, where as on Ex, i feel as if i am going to die. Steel Venom is of course lame, so i will take Ex as the top ride in the park.
A really surprising and promising coaster! Didnt know what to exepct from the que ... and ended up with airtime and Gs and lots of fun. Would benefit from some clean-up landscaping around the latter parts of the ride as well as a new paint job on the track. But, all in all, this is a good coaster and a very unique ride. Definitely hop on while your at the park.
Wicked first 3/4s of the ride. The 105ft drop is as exciting as many 200ft rides. When it first opened there was a bunny hop right after the first drop that threw you into the restraints so hard you bruises were inevidable. Theyve since flattened this. Much work has been done to this coaster over the years especially the high banked turn around, Im unsure why. The ride is short, rough, wicked and provides one extreme eject and twist element mid way. Worth a ride if your there. Drops best in the back of course. Lean forward and hold onto the hand grips in front of you..this keeps your back from being banged around but doesnt detract from the thill factor one bit.
I also liked this coaster, it was good with no wait!
Wonderfully intense in front. Painfully rough in back. Not really a woody its track is steel so it lacks the wonderfull roaring and vibrating of a good woody.
This ride was great Its just az fun az the wild thing but not better. The lines are soo short. They should have never put that in the end of the park.
Fun coaster. Not nearly as good as Wild Thing. And after the first drop, youll be flipping thru the Yellow Pages looking for a good masseuse and chiropractor. Its pretty harsh. If the Gs were decent, I dont think Id be complaining. But the end of the ride just seems purposely harsh as though Valleyfair is trying to injure you. heh heh... if only it were smoother. Perhaps that was their goal though? If so, they have succeeded.
Its a pretty fun ride, but it pretty lame compared to Wild Thing. On the down side it is really bumpy and gives you whip lash.
