The detonator was one of my favorite rides at worlds of fun. I only had to wait 5 minutes to get on. The ride ops locked us in and we began going up. We stopped 5 feet above the ground and prepared for the launch. I noticed that the other tower was going to launch at the exact same time. This made for good rider interaction. It was like a race to see who would launch first! Our tower launched a split second before the other one. The launch caught me off gaurd and it was very intense. At the top our car came to a halt but our bodies continued going up. As we got close to touching the seat again, the car started going down. I was floating all the way down to the bottem. After that we bounced once more. Our car stopped early again, giving us another pop of airtime. This was the most airtime I had experienced all day! We then hit the brakes and booed the other tower for launching later. After that we got off and ran for a re ride. The detonator is one of the best S&Ss around!

These rides seem to be turning up a dime a dozen, but Detonator was one of the firsts. However, when compared to the "big boys" of its type, such as say "Dr Dooms Fear Fall", it just pales in comparison.

Not a bad ride, overall. Unfortunately when you ride one of the big boys, this one just does not cut it. The tower is much taller than the ride goes up. From the interstate, the Detonator looks impressive but when you find out that it is on a hill, the excitement drops just a little.

A great ride, with wonderful ejector air at the top. This was the first twin-tower design built by S&S and it is probably one of the best, yet I would rather ride a coaster. It is also very short for the long wait, but this is a great ride with a wonderful view of WoF and great air.

Ive riden this and Space Shot. They are the same type of ride. Comparing the two, space shot is sooooooooo much better. Inverter does go nearly as fast as Space shot. Space Shot was so much better. But Inverter is still a fun ride

A good ride where you can see all of Kansas City, great shoot off. I prefer roller coasters but for this kind of ride its a good ride.

The ride is short but the beginning is sweet. Besides the first shot its pretty much a look-at-the-nice-view ride.

This is a wonderful verticle ride... the only trouble I had with it was the girl that had too much orange soda before riding it. The line going up to the ride is way too close.. when the girl spewed her drink, it got all over a few visitors... but hey.. any ride that makes people upchuck gets high marks in my book.

airtime is great and the blast off is cool, but i lie power tower better.

An awesome space shot, I thought i was going to be thrown off!
