A nice transport train that covered the outter edges of the park very well, if I remember. The one thing that makes this train very good is the excellent locomotives they deploy. Steam engines almost automatically add up to a 7 minimum, and when run in good condition and with a nice route, an 8 will be a fine score. Not quite the best out there in my opinion (I like nature-scenic routes, which is where this ride is seperated from others) but still very good.
I personally love this railroad. It is a relaxing train ride with neat scenery and a great way to get around the park. It also give you good views of some of the rides such as Big Thunder MT. RR and the inside of Splash Mt. I also enjoy the narrator and the overall feel of this ride. A true Disney classic. I look forward to riding this next time I visit WDW. Im no old man either, Im a 14 year old who loves roller coasters and thrill rides, for instance Nitro in Six Flags.
A nice train ride that reaches a trains a main objective, getting you somewhere else. It lacks a bit in theming for a Disney ride but does give good views of other rides.
The one section of track has some good theming but the rest of the ride is surprising lacking. you would have thought with walts love of the train this would be better.
Good ride, just becasue it goes through different rides, that is the best part. The down side is that cheesy indian settlement. Sooooo dumb!
Disney took a couple of steam locomotives which at one time hauled freight, and restored them into amazing works of mechanical art! Never mind the strange indian settlements set up here and there along the track, just sit back and rest your feet as the train glides along. Train buffs: this is a must to ride and take pictures of. Ride buffs: enjoy a good park transportation system created with alot of effort and time.
I took the railroad from Frontierland to Mickeys Toontown and was really very surprised that Disney added scenery to a railroad. If I remember right there was something like Native American or Pocahontas...anyway, nice relaxing ride. Probably one of the best train rides in the world because it has scenery.
It fits all of the criteria of a great railroad. 1. It is on tracks 2. It goes AROUND the park 3. It stops while going around the park to drop people off. AND FINALLY.....4. There is little cheese to ruin it.
Average train around the park. It does have some small sites along the way as well as nice views and tour of the park. The Main Street Station is nice.
Not bad for a transportation ride. Its got some value to it, I guess. Id rather walk myself, but its a good way to get around and see the scenery. Not a total waste of time. Recommend it to people who just have to ride EVERYTHING (me). But to those who just seek out the "big ones", this is definately not one of them.
