At the rate that Kings Dominion is removing trees around the Grizzly, it might soon look identical to the Wild Beast, as they share almost the exact same layout. My front seat rides on this coaster were really enjoyable, as the layout was packed with laterals and one or two pops of air. However, my lone ride in the back was pretty rough. While I would call the front aggressive and wild, the back is closer to painful. I definitely recommend Wild Beast, just ride it towards the front of the train.
The Wild Beast is one of the most aggressive wooden coasters I have rode, but among my favorites. With its aggressive elements, The Wild Beast hops, dives, and lurches around the track like a wild hog, making the name fitting. More sensitive riders might not enjoy this coaster, as it is not for the tame of heart. In my opinion, it is the roughest ride in the park, but if you can stand being rattled around a bit, it's also one of the funnest rides as well. For those that enjoy an aggressive coaster, The Wild Beast will not disappoint.
Well, it was so rough and busted I was thrown everywhere like a ragdoll, but I had lots of fun. It is well paced, airtime filled, stuffed with headchoppers and exciting throughout; too bad it's so short.
Overall, I think it's totally worth it as long as the lines are below 30 minutes long, which is likely to be the case all day long.
Don't miss, it's a great ride to uncover and enjoy the way it should be.
Airtime. That'.s all. It is a decent coaster, ride it once if you haven'.t yet, but skip it after that.
This was one of the more painful wooden coasters I have ridden. It did not provide fun air at all.
Didn'.t hate this ride quite as much as other who rode with me, but it certainly wasn'.t great either. I think I could tolerate the roughness more than others, simply because I was basically raised off Grizzly at KD (my second major coaster). Grizzly'.s layout is similar, but Grizzly is a *bit* less rough, with a bit more out-of-control feeling and a much better setting. Very similar to Grizz with an okay first drop, extremely slow first turn-around, and very weird ejector air over the third hill. Beast lacks the insane/deathly tunnel Grizzly has, and the following turns and drops seem a bit more painful than Grizzly'.s. Overall, this ride is not for the faint of heart, and I enjoyed it more than I did CW'.s other two woodens.
Eh, this was a pretty dull woodie in my opinion. The ride looked promising from the ground, but it just didnt live up to my expectations. As Ive said before, I like rides that are intended to be rough and aggressive. Obviously this is not meant to be rough and aggressive, and that only occurs thanks to pretty poor upkeep. Still, the ride does have its moments since some hills do give some air and there were some good laterals during the ride. Its not as good as Minebuster, but it still is worth a ride.
As with the Mighty Canadian Minebuster, this one was also a disappointment. The ride was pretty rough throughout, but it did provide some decent laterals and there were a few moments of air time, especially one hill halfway through which gave a major burst of air.
Let me start by saying this was definately the biggest letdown in the park. I heard some decent things about it, but found none of it. APPEARANCE-8 Looked great and I loved the statue by the sign. CAPACITY-1 Awful. 1 train and they were of course doing the 17 point cf check at that. Worse then anything I have seen outside of Gwazi. RIDE QUALITY-4 Rough for no reason which I always hate. When I say rough I dont mean it hurts since I can ride most things, but I took some beating for no real reason other than poor upkeep. FUN-3 Boring. I dont really have much more to add. RERIDE-3 I would try again because i cant imagine that it wouldnt be better the next time. OVERALL-19 AVG-4.8. I will go 4 since most the points came from appearance.
This is kinda like the one at kings island called the beast but the beast is much bigger and better.
