Giving this ride a 3 is generous: I've always thought and always will think that drop towers are OVERRATED, any brand, anywhere. S&S' towers have a much more intense initial drop, but since Intamin's towers drop you longer, climb faster and have a better capacity, I give them the upper edge.
But still, what you get here is so bland! You're dropped, which gets you a bit out of your seat for half a second, and then instead of experiencing an actual freefall, you just loudly roll down the tower's vertical track, and then it's over. Oh, and the climb up is very unnerving at first, but then, as you're aware of the mildness of the actual drop, the stressful effect just dissipates.
I don't think any of those towers are worth the wait: they give you an incredibly short moment of airtime, and... goodbye, that's all you've been waiting for in line!
I know many of you won't agree with my thoughts, which is why I'd like you to comment. I really wanna hear about what you think of the matter!
I love Intamins so much more than S&S towers and this is a perfect example. While not that much to look at, lines are really short for this despite it being on of the parks better rides. The climb and pause at the top is extremely suspenseful no matter how many times Ive been on it, but the views at the top were nothing to shout about. However, the drop was a totally different story as it was not only sudden, but I totally lost my stomach and there was good floater air the whole way down. The intensity of these Intamin towers absolutely blows away S&S ones.
This is a very good Intamin drop tower. As always, the drop was very suspenseful and very intense. I was out of my seat the whole way down and got a very good stomach dropping sensation. Only negative is the pretty mediocre views on this one.
Just another Intamin drop tower, nothing that fantastic. I rode it for something to do before the rain came so I actually got a pretty freaky drop with the storm hitting, but other than that nothing memorable. Not in a great location either. I usually ride these just for the credit and that is what this was.
This park often has large crowds for almost every attraction, so I think that Paramount should have put in a larger capacity drop tower ride than this. The lines for this ride are often insane. Overall, the drop is quite fast, the height is tall, and the ride is fun.
I love this ride its 215 feet tall and travels at 69 mph or 100 kmh its a quick thrill and is insane! It is so much fun! The ride op was great too! He told us there were technical difficulties with the breaking system and that we would have to wait about 5 minutes for them to fix it....and I actually believed him. Then whoosh straight to the ground. I was so surprised! Plus sometimes in the morning drop zone is a walk on.. which is very good. Pick the higher numbers of seats like 5 4 or 3 because they have the best view of the city and the park. Plus the ride has some fairly decent theming which I wasnt expecting...a speaker tells you the whole ride as if he is director and you are a stunt person for an action film... Very very good ride...insanely thrilling and very fun. A 10 in my books
A good drop ride that gives you a nice view of the park and also air time. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
Good ride, but it suffers from massive lines and terrible capacity. Not as intense as other drop rides - S&S Turbo Drops, mainly.
Pretty nice air and some awesome views!
Drop Zone was my first really tall drop tower, and is still my second favorite. (#1-Tower of Terror, #3-Dr Dooms Fearfall) I love the anticipation that builds up as you climb the 235 ft tower...and then you drop...about a foot...and sit there for a moment...then...WHOOOSH! Suddenly, youre plummeting hundreds of feet towards the ground and right before you crash the breaks come on. What an amazing ride!
