Foward - classic out and back... great speed, good air up front.

Backward - good sensation in the drops, but a little rough (of course, I hit it at the end of the day so I could have been feeling the effects of fatigure)

I took my girlfriend on this ride, and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences ever. She screamed like her life was going to end. She was pretty mad at me for taking her on it, but thankfully the ice cream stand is right beside it, so that made things better. Anyhew, back to the review, while I dont have the stats nearby, I always feel that Rebel Yell is always just a bit higher and faster than Thunder Road. Havent ridden The Racer in a while so I cant fairly compare it. And speaking of racing, that seems to be the element that Carowinds always misses. I one time asked an attendant to race the cars and she glared back at me with a "no" Cant blame me for trying.

Thunder Road used to be a realy rough wooden coaster. Although in 2002 there were some big changes which made the ride more smooth. So although it isnt that fast it gives some nice airtime. When I went to Carowinds they even raced the trains.

Maybe I am just lucky, but every time I went to ride it they happened to be racing the sides. I like racers such as this, as shown by my liking of American Eagle. Thunder Road is nearly as fun, and is better than the Eagle whenever they trim the hell out of the helix. Some nice airtime, but nothing really special. Forwards is a good ride, backwards is just ok.

Backwards is the shiznit! I loved this coaster. Its a classic in my book. And you just gotta love the theme on this thing. That can only be pulled off in the South (I can say that cause Im from the south). Honestly though, its a good ride with lots of variety just cause of the simple fact that you can ride forwards or backwards and in every seat youll get a different experience. A must ride in both directions!

The forwards ride is just ok, nothing special, so well throw that score out. The real star here is the backwards train in the farthest back seat. Lots of airtime is to be had here and it is a very fun effect to see the track being spit out in front of you. Certainly the best racer between the PKD-PKI-PC coasters.

I had a really fun ride on this, in the front seat. Tight first drop, GREAT airtime, really, there are lots of bunny hills, or camel backs. It may not be the biggest, but it makes up in size with airtime... ride this one its hot, missing it is just stupid.

Just like the Racer. I like i backwards but fortwards it is bumpy and unpleasant. Backwards you get tons of airtime and I love it.

This is an ok woody but when I was there they didnt race the trains. I liked the backwards part better because it makes the drop feel so steep and I didnt get sand in my eyes like when you go foreward.
