This ride is a great ride for all ages
A true classic. I took my 4 yr old daughter on this ride for the 1st time in 1987 and most recently in 2002 and someday I hope to take my grandkids on this classic coaster.
Im at a loss here, because on one hand I wish Disney would update it, but then again it would lose its classic appeal. The ride itself is neat, especially in its log-flume seating, and the effects are fun. BTW, did you know that the images of asteriods projected on the ceiling in the queue area are actually chocolate chip cookies? Im not kidding.
definatly a special ride, mainly because its a classic that will never die. how many children got their first roller coaster thrill on this ride? how many will in the future? its a sentimental ride that i hope stays up for a long time
Um... It is ok, nothing really special. The queue line theming is cool. I dont really understand why everybody is under the impression that Space Mountain is a much better coaster than Thunder Mountain, because Thunder Mountain is way better. Its longer, less jerky, has more airtime and better scenery. If you have time to ride both, ride Thunder Mountain twice.
it was alright coaster best roller coaster at the magic kingdom
Good ride but I like Californias more. The one in Florida is more like Matterhorn than it is like Space Mountain (in CA) I prefert the two abreast seating...it gives it more of a coaster feel. This one did not feel quite as intense as CAs.
good indoor coaster with great affects butits really not that fast or thrilling but its worth seeing.
I have always like the ride, but I have never understood why everyone loved it so much. It is pretty neat the way the coaster rides, but a little rough. The building is cool, and a landmark as you pass by in the monorail. I usually ride it once upon entering the park since no one is there but I like Big Thunder Mountain a little better.
A great roller coaster simply because it is indoors. The roller coaster itself is just a small steel-mini type coaster. The theming is great, but could have been just a little bit better being from disney. The stars on the structure of the coaster are a little over used, but i love how it feels like you are going to smack your head right against the structure! That one drop near the end is really surprising. I also like that red tunnel with the booming sound at the end. It is also a lot longer than i thought because there are two coasters in the building, so it doesnt seem like it could be as long as it is. When it comes down to it, Rock n Roller Coaster is much better, but Space Mountain is really good. I would have given it a 10 if the theming was just a little bit better and if it was a bit darker.
