Yankee Cannonball was a really fun out and back woodie with some very nice airtime throughout and some surprisingly good speed. Unfortunately the ride was only running one of its trains, which resulted in a very long wait so I could not get a re-ride. A very fun woodie though nonetheless.

If you were to rank a ride pound - for - pound, this is the Sugar Ray Leonard of roller coasters. A true heavyweight fighting in the featherweight class. Although an overall short L-shaped out-and-back ride, the Yankee Cannonball delivers massive airtime during an all too brief run. A trip in the back seat during the second drop offers surprising air-time; the turn around is so fast you dont even notice the tree in the middle of the structure. Another Herb Schmeck smile machine...there is no reason NOT to have fun on this ride.

This is a good little wooden coaster. It has good amounts of airtime for its small size, and is incredibly smooth. The retracking made it really smooth. Also provides a good out and back classic feeling.

The line moves incredibly slow. The day I went was rediculisly crowded, and they were only running one train.

This was my first major coaster as a kid and it made me literally ball my eyes out. Today I love this lil woody and it holds a special place in my heart. The airtime coupled with the buzz bars is a great combination.

A wild out and back coaster for its size. Great air on the hills and a great looking caoster too.
Would rate a 10 if Canobie Lake would have air gates installed so that people can line up behind their seat. With out seats, they only let enough people in the station to fill the train... if you are the first one in, you can pick your seat... if you are the last one in, you get what is left. However, with only a 3 car train (3 seats per car), middle seats are not all that bad... after all, if you are in the middle train, you are in both the 2nd car and also the next to last car.

this ride is amazing! everytime i ride it i get off with a smile on my face. your out of your seat for most of this ride. the lines get a little long but its well worth the wait. its tough deciding between this and excalibur for best coaster though

This one is a classic. I go on YC every year, and every time its always fun. A little short though, but the airtime is relentless!

I agree with all the people that say that this one is classic. I dont think that its anything super special and if the line is super long, Id do something else instead, but if you typically enjoy wooden roller coasters, theres pretty much no reason why you wouldnt enjoy this one also.

So smooth and full of airtime on both the larger and smaller hills. Airtime just doesnt give up on this classic. It may not look like the biggest woodie, but it just may surprise you. I remember being a young kid who was scared to ride this coaster. Now I not only love coasters, but YC is one of my favorites.
