Going to the park for only 4 hours with my school my friends convinced me that this ride was a "must" so i endured the half hour wait with them. I was also convinced by one of my friends that the vwhiplash so there we were right in the back. As soon as the ride started i regretted getting on. Im givig it a 5 because some of the hills got decent airtime but it was pretty boring and bumpy not good on my sunburned back!
I didnt consider Yankee Cannonball worthy of my 45 minute wait. It is slow and not very forceful. I sat in the first row of the last car and quite frankly would have given it another shot from the front of the train if the queue wasnt so bad. I did not experience much air, just a smidgen on the first drop nor did I find it rough as others have said.
Nice single out and back classic woodie. Its not overly huge or long, but for its size its very thrilling and has some great laterals without being rough at all, which really surprised me, considering its the second-oldest coaster Ive ridden. If it had 2 trains running Id even consider giving it a 10, as the line got too long especially toward the end of the day for single train operation.
APPEARANCE-9 The trains look fantastic, but the track could use some work. I think it would look better in just the natural wood that they have along the turnaround. When you paint wood you have to keep up on it and that seems like a waste of maintenance. CAPACITY-4 Short one train operation. Now I like the short train but it used to run two so they need to figure that out again. RIDE QUALITY-10 Good fast feeling with no ride ruining roughness. FUN-10 By far the most fun I had at Canobie. RERIDE-10 I would definately ride several times. OVERALL-44 AVG 8.8 I will go 9 just a great old coaster.
Great, great ride i mean this beats the crap out of a lot of big money sx falgs rides. the line really isnt that long either and is definetly worth the wait. Only behind superman in my opinion for New England rollercoasters. And dont disagree with me till u check it out.
My first wooden coaster is still a great one despite its age.
APPEARANCE: Considering its age, it looks incredible. The ride hugs the parking lot and the white structure looks great and is very well cared for. Also, the trains recently were repainted and look incredible. Not to be outdone is the station, which really captures the traditional feel of the ride and the fountain out in front is beautiful.
WAIT TIME: 30-45 minutes- The wait got a little better last year, but it still is the parks star attraction and it therefore gets the attention of a star attraction. That combined with the one train operation (the train is smaller than that of most wooden coasters to boot) creates quite a bit of a wait. Loading is lightning quick at least.
RIDE: Dont be fooled, because despite its small stature, it still packs quite the punch. The first drop gives excellent air in the back and all of the following bunny hills give decent air throughout the train, but there really isnt any extreme air other than the first drop that I look for. Still, the ride is glass-smooth and a joy to ride.
FINAL VERDICT: Definitely the best ride at Canobie and a cant miss for anyone who enjoys roller coasters while at Canobie.
Awesome ride, and I cant really think of many rides that are more "fun" than this. It just fits Canobie so perfectly in what the park is all about. Also, for its size it packs quite a lot of power and delivers a lot of airtime; the ride never really seems to let up. The only two problems I have with this ride that bring it down from a 10 are the only one train operation, which makes the lines unbearable most days in the summer, and the loading system. I wish Canobie put the gates before loading so one could choose a preference for a seat. I have personally found that on this ride where you sit makes a huge difference, as the 3rd rows in each car tend to deliver more airtime for me. But all in all a good ride but is brought down by Canobies operation of it.
a great ptc out and back with a whole lot of out of the seat air time. not to fast but not to slow. ride is well paced right into the break run. and its just as nice to look at from the parking lot on the way in too. a great clasic ptc style coaster. (i know its not an ace clasic) just old fashioned fun.
Classic Schmeck. A nice out and back, with decent airtime and good laterals, particularly coming out of the turnaround. The downside of the ride comes in the poor operations. While the ride seems to have a fairly modern station, it is set up like an older station, with no space for passengers to wait in the station, and first come, first served seating. The single side loading makes one train operations excrusiatingly slow as well.
Good ride, it could use a little more speed though, it seems to drag a bit at the top of the hills. This is a fun ride, but the line is always really long. I dont think its worth the wait, especially with awesome woodies at Funtown, and Lake Compounce, not that far away, and with very short lines.
