This ride doesnt look all that exceptional, but I must say it was the surprise favorite at Astroworld. Ive been on several of these compact Schwarzkopf looping coasters before, and while theyre always good fun, that is usually the extent of it. Viper, though, really blew me away. The first curving drop was a doosey. Not only did the tunnel that enclosed it really add another exciting element, but when the curving straightened out at the bottom of the drop, there were just tremedous lateral gs being experienced. We didnt even have time to reposition ourselves after being shoved to the left side of the train before being thrust into that classic Schwarzkopf vertical loop. Following this were several swoops, turns, and dives that really delivered just amazing g-forces. The lateral gs were off the charts, and the negative gs were incredibly effective for the little dips and drops that produced them. Add that to the fact that the only restraint here is a lap bar, and you have a real winner with Six Flags Astroworlds Viper.

Another part of AstroWorlds "Dinosaurs of Steel Coasters" exhibit. Something to ride when you go there, but nothing to plan a trip a Texas around.

This is a great ride, especially in the back. It is a little short, but is incredibly smooth and gives some fun laterals and positive gs. A great starter coaster as well as a great...well, coaster.

Perfect 10!!! I rank this one #3 at the park. Of course #1 is the woodie and the texas tornado is the best. But lets get back to the Viper. The first Dislike about it was the noise on the way up the first hill but who cares about that right? The Tunnel is the bomb at the top of the first hill, and then the ride is Really Fast. They say it goes 47 MPH But i tell you I think it goes aroung 60 MPH The one loop makes it a coaster like i like it Iam not into Steel Coaster but This is a Must Ride if you past this up your going to be the one missing out on the fun

Good at day and night. At night they have the greenlight stuff. But still this is a great classic coaster. One loop doesnt mean it sucks. Its got plenty of helixes, sharp turns, and 0-G jumps to get you screaming WAHOO or SHIBBY or SWEET by the end.

Fun and smooth are the words to describe this classic coaster. This was my first looper when it was the Jet Scream in St. Louis. Still nice to have a looper with lap bars.
