Until this past summer, I had never had the pleasure of riding a Zamperla Disko. Having enjoyed their Rockin’ Tugs and Skater flat rides at several parks, I was eager to try the larger and more thrilling Disko model. Well, Seabreeze was able to grant this wish as their new attraction for 2010, Revolution 360, was none other than a Zamperla Disko. Was it as good as I imagine? Simply put, it was.

Situated directly next to the Whirlwind, Revolution 360 sports a vibrant yellow paint scheme for the track, and the disk itself has an orange, yellow, and blue spiraling paint scheme. Compared to the Rockin’ Tugs and Skaters that I have been on, Revolution 360 definitely dwarfed them, as the track reached a maximum height of 50ft.

Despite being Seabreeze’s new ride for 2010, Revolution 360 was a walk-on all day. Additionally, the ride operators working the ride loaded the attraction incredibly quickly. As for the restraints, they were certainly unique. After choosing one of the 24 pedestal-style seats, back pads slowly rise out from the back of the seats and clamp riders against the pedestal. My first ride, I was not at all bothered by the restraints. However, being a guy, the second ride got quite painful since the restraint jammed me forwards causing my man region to get crushed by the pedestal. Therefore, for guys out there, I recommend that when the restraints come down that you resist the back restraint to leave yourself about a centimeter in breathing room to prevent this from occurring.

Once the ride began, I was pleasantly surprised. As I suspected, the ride was simply a Rockin’ Tug or Skater on steroids. The spinning itself not only created some fairly strong Gs, but it was also very disorienting thanks to the outward facing seats. But what I really enjoyed was the rocking, as it provided a good “tummy-tickling” sensation. Due to the restraints, unfortunately no air is present; however, the forceful spinning and thrilling rocking more than makes up for it. Not only was the ride itself incredibly fun, but Seabreeze also ran a fairly long cycle on this flat.

Overall, Revolution 360 is an excellent addition to Seabreeze’s ride lineup. Being my first Disko, I was expecting a better version of a Rockin’ Tug or Skater, and Revolution 360 certainly did not disappoint. My only real negative with both Revolution 360 and Diskos in general would be the restraints. While the open-air design of the restraints make for an incredibly disorienting and thrilling attraction, the back pads forcing riders forwards into the pedestal can definitely cause some discomfort for men. Even with this minor flaw, Revolution 360 is still an incredibly enjoyable flat that any spinning ride fanatic should not consider missing.
