I didnt really have a problem with this coaster. It was my first looper and I thought it was fun back then, but compared to hat Ive been on now its not so great. I can understand why most guys dont like it.
This was a bit rough in the back, I think if you get more towards the front of the train it is not so bad. The bunny hops are cool, and the loop is always interesting.
When I got in line for this for the first time I was thinking that I was in for a short wait. Boy, that the first misjudgement. It took a good 45 minutes to actually get to the ride, then loading was another story. It took about two minutes to load the train (and lemme tell you the bicycle seats are not comfortable on the male unit). Then there was the unbearable lift. The ride itself was very basic and painful with loads of headbanging to boot! The bunny hops were extremely painful as the restraints inflicted their torture upon me. The only screaming I did on this ride was at my brother who talked me into doing it. This ride lives up to its name, but thats not really a good thing in this case. Easily one of the worst rides ive ever been on.
I dont mean to sound negative, but I honestly have no good points for this ride. **Update!** I recently visited PKD with some friends and they have never ridden "Shockwave" before, so I gave it another try. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it was! I experienced no headbanging and the ride attendants even helped me on how to adjust my seat so I wouldnt experience any unit crushing! A very unexpected turn-around from what I had previously been through! An applaudable change!
IMO this is a great ride, although a bit rough on the turns and transitions, i enjoy the airtime, odd when standing, and the loading process is fun.
I am 62 and had no problem with this ride it was comfortable in my opinion a great ride. The best thing to do it not to pull up on your seat so you are forced to have your legs bairly touching the ground.
I dont see what the problem is with this ride, I had a positive experience on this coaster. I was expecting the worse and came off with a smile on my face. Sure this ride has its bumps but I didnt find the ride uncomfortable, painful or bad... and Im not a fan of stand-ups either.
A nice stand-up coaster. Lines move very slow, because of the horrible capacity, and slow ride ops. The drop and the loop are fun, but after that, the ride tries to kill you! The helix makes you black-out, and the final turn makes you hit your head against the harness. Not to mention that after the ride, your still at the brake run for five-minutes waiting for passengers to get on. The ride was fun, but overall, not a good coaster.
This is the worst coaster I have ever ridden. The line looked to be a 5-10 minute wait but it turned out to be a 30 minute wait with the slow ride ops. Ok, so I wasnt going to rate the ride just on the ride ops but this is the only coaster I absolutely hate! the drop is nice, but the loop hurts, and after that I dont remember to much because my head hurt so bad from the headbanging I couldnt even open my eyes! Id just head on this for the credit, but otherwise, stay away from it.
OUCH! The only thing good about this experience... the pain from the neck breaking of this ride took some of the attention away from the pain from that bicycle seat contraption that you are impaled upon (guys... you all know that I mean). An a less than interesting layout to boot.
it hurts and the color scheme is horrible. its an okay ride i guess...6.
