A very dissapointing an extremely hot attraction. The boats move very slow and as Yoshi said only the area around the cave is really worth it. Also if you have been to Europe they do this type of attraction so much better that it makes the one at DW even seem worse. It only gets a 2 because I am a sucker for park mascots and Duke is pretty cool. Definately an attraction to be skipped, though a race between this and the skyride could be a real barn burner.

My first ride through the "Lagoon" was back in the 1970s when it used to contain the Swan Boats (I forget if they were pedal or motor powered) that you could steer where you liked and returned when your number was called. The modern ride is a tracked boat ride throught the lagood and through Dukes lair. A fun little ride for the kids... a nice way to slow down for a bit for the adults.

The Dragons Lair is a long and leisurely boat ride at the very front of the park. Seen from the road next to Dutch Wonderland, you can easily see the Dragons Lair giant brown rock it travels around. Located to the left of the main entrance, the Dragons Lair has you riding in 2 seat, brown boats. Generally, the Dragons Lair has a wait less than 5 minutes because they run many boats. Inside the boats are steering wheels, but they are just there for decoration. Dutch Wonderland dispatches the boats quickly. Riding around a large pond thats kind of dirty, you go around many twists and turns with a massive and angry purple dragon statue on the rock (their mascot Duke). The best part of the ride is when you travel inside the brief cave where Dukes dragon egg is. Its purple with yellow spots. However, the nice-looking rock and brief cave are the only good parts of the Dragons Lair while the rest is boring. Even worse, our boats motor shut off half-way through the ride so the boat behind us pushed my boat back to the station. You did get a very long ride though on the Dragons Lair. Overall, a leisurely boat ride that only people who enjoy boat rides should ride. This is a great relaxation ride. It would have been better if you could control the boats like on swan and paddle boat rides and not follow a designated path.
