Georgia Cyclone is a wood twister. It was built by Dinn & Summers and designed by Curtis Summers. It was built in 1990. It is 95' tall, it is 2,970' long. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.

This was a surprisingly good wooden coaster. I almost skipped this one to hit other rides, but rode it and was amazed. There was tons of air throughout the ride and it definitely had an edge to it, making the ride unpredictable and quite intense.

Date Ridden: Various times over the past 15 years with the latest being Opening Day 2008. Times Ridden: Many Whew...its been a while since Ive been on here thanks to other things going on...mainly fantasy baseball season beginning. However, after visiting SFOG on Opening Day and rding Goliath 50 (yes thats right....50) times, I thought it was time to start back with my coaster reviews. The Cyclone was fresh on my mind so I thought Id start back with it. To begin with, I am very proud of my home park. We have one of the top 10 steel coasters in the world according to both Mitchs poll and the Golden Tickets, a well respected steel looper in Mindbender, and also a strong woodie which gets solid reviews from most enthusiasts in the GA Cyclone. While the Cyclone is not among my favorite rides, it is still a solid ride which gives tons airtime and lots of fun. The ride is not rough as other reviews say. It is simply the design and layout which leads to a very intense ride. Are you going to get slammed around? Yes. Are you going to get thrown from your seat on approximately a half dozen occasions? Yes. Are you going to tossed from one side of your seat to the next? Yes again because that is the way the ride is set up. I personally prefer the back seat to any other area of the train. Uneblievably the ride seems just as intense but maybe a little smoother back there than up fron or in the middle. Plus the airtime is really extreme......not El Toro extreme but very good nonetheless. The GA Cyclone gets a solid 8 from me and a spin or two on every trip I make down to Austell.

This is a terrible coaster. On the first two drops, I experienced some severe back pain. I had to sit up in my seat a bit the rest of the ride just so it would be bearable. There is less airtime on this than there was on the Texas Cyclone. The drops and turns werent as exciting as I thought they would be, but I couldnt tell for sure because my back was in pain. Definitely skip this one, unless you want to risk back and neck injury. An embarassment to the Cyclone clones.

You do get some ok airtime and a decent first drop, but at what expense? Your neck and back? I dont know why everyone likes this one so much, but I absolutely despised this coaster, and so did everyone else that was on the train with me. Its not fun at all, its just painful. Shakes and literally jumps off the track. Horrible experience, defintely the worst ride in the park in my opinion.

I dont like this one. I never get sick on roller coasters, but I seem to always get queezy. It is fun until the ending. It just needs to be retracked or something. It gets pretty rough towards the middle. It could also use a coat of paint. It looks like it sits there rotting away.

First wooden coaster for me and it was OK. It was not as bumpy as people said it would be but it did get me on the first drop. It didd give me the thought I would get my head chopped of which is a plus since It was fun after that.It just wasnt fun enough though so I did not give it a 10
