This really has turned into a pretty good coaster, not nearly as rough as it used to be. Lines are always short, queue line is one of the better ones at SFoG, and it is over water, so it has good benefits. The ride has a surprisingly high hill and the headchoppers are excellent. Just too short, not enough speed, and still a little rough, especially late in the day.
Ninja: The Black Belt of Coasters. Huh, I thought it ment "Kung Pow: The Ride". That is about the level of Ninja, at this point is is a mere laugh in the face of the amusement industry. I do have good things to say about it too. My advice would be to ride this headbanger in the back, where it is abnormally less rough in the back from my experience. The whip on the top from the back is nice, really a sweet little tug. The first too loops are real nice, one after another and not too rough. The headchoppers on Ninja are nice as well, with gigantic white supports poking out above the track multiple times. The setting normally would be good, except it blocks the view of the Scream Machince, taking away the ability for the beautiful lumber to reflect in the pond. Oh well. Thats all good I have to say about Ninja, and against the old saying, I will express the bad things about this ride. If you do not ride in the back, it will be more rough than a corroding, demented woodie. My most recent ride was in the front seat, obliging to the requests of my guest. Oh, the agony of Ninja hit us both, rattling every bone from the vertebrae up, disorienting us for quite some time, all while making the ride so painful and uncomfortable the good parts were overshadowed by the unenjoyable in the OTSRs. Bad Vekoma :nono: Well, now I see why I was so scared 12 years ago. Let me elaorate: my father forced me to ride Ninja at the age of 6, and it scared the living daylights out of me, and until about four years ago, I did not return to looping coasters. Imagine that, this coaster that almost scared me to death still haunts me, only with horrid pain nowadays. The only thing that keeps luring be to this looper is short lines and a decent ride for the back seat. Now for the rating, which I originally gave a 5. Now, I am going to lower it to a 3, with my back row successes being the only thing saving it from being a 2. Its rough as Teddy Roosevelt, and lacking in overall experience, its just a coaster designed to pack a bunch of inversions (5) into a small space..
A cool looking coaster. The ride is pretty rough because you get your head banged around in the over the shoulder restraints. My daughter enjoyed the coaster but she actually had a headache after the ride because of all the head banging. I actually had scratches on my the area between my neck and shoulders. ( a first for me ) Over the shoulder restraints strike again. If the restraint systen was changed this could be an excellent coaster.
Awesome inversions, Nice colors, the head-choppers were EXTREME....The trick to a painless experience on Ninja is to slide your butt back as far as possible after you close the harness. With your butt all the way back, slide your shoulders up until theyre right against the restraint. If your head is above the top of the harness, thats the PERFECT position.
That was one hell of a ride meaning it felt like hell!!!
This ride is very rough if you dont sit in the back. The first time I rode it I sat in the second to the front seat. When I got off, my ears were bleeding. The back seat only has two rough spot, but nothing too bad. The inversions on this ride are very disorienting. The two loops are not G pullers but they do feel nice and wierd. Especially the butterfly. This year(2002) the ride is running a lot less rough. I came of it without a headache. If you go to Six Flags, it should not be at the top of your list, but it should be far from the bottom.
Well, being a Vekoma, I LOVE Vekomas. I have never in my life seen a rough Vekoma. I have seen a cramped one, but not a rough one. Tis ride is so amazing even though it was relocated. I love the Butterfly in the begining. It gives me mega airtime and that flying feeling. The Sidewinder was very in your seat type of thing. The two corkscrews at the end are airtime all the way. I enjoyed this ride. Also, the ride has pacing and a lot of scares with all of the supports coming so close. For lack of a better word, it was great. My final ratings are: Design - 8, Themeing - 3, Fun Factor - 8, Re-Ride - 8, Intensity - 7, Scare Factor - 8, Originality - 7. My finalk score is...7, which ronded is a 7. Thanks For Listening. The ninja was rough. But it had tons of loops and corkscrews to make up for it. It always has a short line. So I say simply: GO RIDE IT!!
This ride is simply too rough. The back seat is the only one that doesnt injure your neck or ears with its harness. It also feels slow. I just havent been able to warm up to this ride.
i happen to disagree with them, i enjoyed the ninja. yes it does whip you around some, but if there is only a 20 minute line, do it. it is fun and isnt as bad as they make it seem. this is better than all the water rides and all of you know it was fun but jut need to toughen up!!!
