The Haunted House Ride is a track guided ride. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
Its a dark ride, so I had to ride it. That being said, this is one dark ride that I wished that I would have missed and saved the admission price for somethign worth while. I can spin around on my wheeled office chair in my basement at home with the lights off and have a more satisfying dark ride experience.
Pathetic. Destined for a permanent spot on themeparkcritics "bottom 10" list, it is stunningly bad. As accurately described by ernys and darkridrMD, nothing happens on this ride. Because this is probably the worst ride I have ever been on, I considered giving this a "1," but settled on a "2" because it does feature a 5 second spiral lift hill that was sort of fun. This demonstrates that the park operators have a total lack of concern for providing any value to customers. It also makes me question the judgment of the ownership and management of the Jolly Roger complex who now own this pier.
Sorry, a 2 is too generous for this. It was about 100 ft of track in a trailer with light creeping in at the edges. NOTHING happened. There was a spooky soundtrack (no screams) and I think I recall a single, non-animated, mask on a wall right before heading back outside, kinda like a Balinese barong with fake hair. I think with one of the overpriced ticket packages, this was something like $3.50 a person.
Its very hard for me to give something a rating of 1, but this came close. It was a ridiculously short ride(basically a trailer) with almost nothing in it. I think Im being very kind with this rating, especially considering the cost of the pier rides in Ocean City. They are nowhere near the value that Trimpers represents. I dont remember the prices of rides on the pier when I was a kid, but I have a feeling that since Jolly Roger took them over, theyve gone through the roof. Avoid this one at all costs. I just hated to leave a dark ride unridden.
