Sweet Coaster. Its got a great first drop and it stays intense for the duration of the ride. A great wooden coaster.

I was expecting alot from this coaster... First... its a Herb Schmeck design. Second, its reputation. For the most part, it delivered... it was a wild ride, lots of air and speed. But it seemed a bit brutal and rough. Of course, it could have been my iratable mood that day... it was hellishly hot that day and, echoing rentzy187s comments, the Great Escape is a park that is "far from good" (classic case of a GREAT coaster in a borderline crappy park)

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!! The Comet is the single best wooden coaster Ive been on so far. The lift is fast, the first drop is steep, and, after the turnaround, its AIRTIME HEAVEN!!! Ive never had so much fun on a coaster. Airtime on every hill, no brakes at all, speed galore, and awesome slamming laterals on the turns. Its rough but in a good way. I was cheering and clapping when I came back to the station. I couldnt believe. What an incredible rush!!! Head to the back for maxium air.

I think the comet is a awesome roller coaster it might not be the fastest and might not be the highest but it gives you the best feeling when youre on it and it jerks you around the most then any roller coaster I have ever been on...except for the Cyclone at SFNE...but that just hurts.

The best ride in the park by far! What a great restoration job done on this Shmeck beauty. The airtime, laterals and illusion of speed all make a Top 10 ride!

I think this ride is sort of overrated. Sure, its a nice old coaster, but thats all it is. I will admit its one of the best rides in the park though, and if youve ever been to Great Escape, youll know that that aint sayin too much.

All i can say is...WOW! How did a ride so good end up in such a horrible park. This ride needs to be put in a better amusement park so more people can enjoy its awesomeness. I love the roughness and all the hills. This ride is jampacked with airtime!

Nice coaster with alot of history. They have done some work on this coaster over the last few years creating an even better ride. the turns are smooth yet offer resanable good lats and the coaster runs fast. Some of the best Air time to be found in NY.
