Decent river rapids ride. I love the landscaping around the ride and how it travels through the woods. Also, there were quite a few rapids during the course, but not all of them got riders soaked and therefore it was possible for people to come off dry. The ride was pretty long though.
I went on this with the rest of my family which is how I believe this should be ridden. While the ride was only worth a 6, I had a so much fun watching my familys reaction to getting wet that I would give it an 8, which will balance to about 7. There were lots of little dips which made this ride pretty fun for me, but not so much that my parents (who admittedly were scared on this and provided lots of laughs from us kids) would not ride. The ride is longer that I thought it would be and is just plain fun. We waited about 20 minutes and the line moved fast. As expected the ride loaded very efficiently unlike some other Knotts rides, namely Montezoomas Revenge. This is not something that I would like to ride all day long, but it makes a great one timer at Knotts if you have time.
Though not really themed, the landscaping around this ride sure is pretty (tho not as cool as a similar ride back home at Lake Compounce). The rafts spin and move along swiftly enough, its a decent length, and theres some good splashiness. Two things hurt it: the lack of any kind of significant drop, and a bit of a hit-or-miss on whether or not you get really wet. And isnt getting wet the purpose of this kinda thing? You might get quite doused, if not quite the soaked to the bone that some rides deliver, or you might get just a small shvitzing. Still, a good ride and well worth doing.
Its pretty boreing. The drops are very, very small but it had great themind so ill give it some points.
Bigfoot Rapids used to be my favorite river rafting ride. It has smaller rafts that move much more swiftly through the more narrow river than the larger troughs of most river rapids rides. The theming and forest setting are pretty nice too. However, what with the addition of Grizzly River Run at DCA and Shipwreck Rapids at Sea World, this one is forced to take a back (or at least middle) seat. Also, the waterfalls get turned off before a raft travels underneath them. That used to be the best part of this ride, seeing who would be the one to get soaked by the waterfalls. Bigfoot Rapids is still better than many rapids rides, its just that other So Cal examples are doing even more these days.
blah. not that great. the worst part is a long line and the drops are minature.
rapids rides never live up to their promised excitement. however I love anyhting having to do with bigfoot.
Im so mad they stopped the waterfalls. It used to be youd go swirling around and never knew whod hit the waterfall. Whoever the lucky one was, they walked off that ride drenched to the bone and their shoes squishy. Now... man, they stop the water just as you come up to it. What fun is that!!! Its still alright, but Perilous Plunge is for getting soaked. Love the Bigfoot themes throughout. Its better riding with a large group.
Really fun. I enjoyed this ride. I loved the name and themeing (footprints). I got a walk-on ride. Got you pretty wet. Make sure to ride this one unless it is cold and rainy.
When we went on it, we were able to go through about 6 strait times, and by the time we got off, we were soaked. I loved it when we went on it
