I found this ride to be really good. Well it certainly is a rare type of ride. The capacity is horrible, but most water slides have a horrible capacity. The slide was pretty fast and the raft spun like crazy. I especially liked the speedy double drop at the end with the waterfall. Then the water part at the end was a bit dull for my taste though.

The worlds tallest spinning rapids ride. Probably the most dizziest ride there. You slightly get wet, but not much. Thats the only thing thats stopping this ride from geting a 10.

Who doesnt love spinning rides? This was the BEST spinning ride of them all! Basically you spin and spin and spin and its brilliant. And the last 2 drops were amazing. Good ride choice!

I cant believe I forgot to rate such a memorable ride - in March, I got evacd off the lift which is the only time I have had anything like that happen. In October, I rode with coaster05 and we spun a lot. I liked it more than he did of course, but WOW those things spin crazy. I was very dizzy after this ride, and fortunately we didnt get wet. An ok ride (at best) I suppose but pretty much the epitome of such a craptacular park.

Definately another spinning frenzy. After riding the one in Adventureland I was pretty sure I would not do one again. However I am a sucker for amusement park pier pressure, so here I was again. Same issues as the one in Iowa, Capacity, length, lack of splash. Same benefits also, small footprint, kind of funny with the right group. The only real difference between the two was Iowas was themed so much more. Overall not something I want to keep doing so hopefully the next one I encounter will not be with a large group.

A tame water raft slide with no splash.

O my I have just ridden the worlds largest spinning rapids ride.Storm surge is a pretty fun raft ride but you dont get to wet on,which can be a bad thing on a hot day.You can see every where in the ride section of the park. With the thunderbolt and the ferris wheel it makes the skyline of Cypress Gardens Adventure park. You sit in a big tube that can fit i think about six people. You go up a the long 1mph lift hill wich isnt to bad.You get a nice view of the gardens and ski show area.then you go swerling down making wide turns wich are pretty fun.You get splashed a little but not alot. When you get to the end of the ride you get sprayed alittle bit with some water mist.Cypress Gardens might add water cannons so riders can get drenched.Storm surge is a pretty fun ride but a gets a few points off because yoyu really dong get to wet and that is what your supposed to do on an water type ride.Lines can build up,but the maxium wait will probably be about 15 to 10 minu ntes.Has pretty slow loading capacity so at the end you will have to wait a while before getting off.Overall Storm Surge is fun.Dont miss it.

This was a cool ride. They advertized it as the world largest spinning rapids ride. You sit in large round inflateable rafts and go up a conveyor belt and then go spinning down a good sized slide. You dont really get wet on it, which was a good thing when I went because it was in the 50s outside but in the summer it may be nice to get a bit wetter than you do on the ride. It was one of the few permanent rides in the park.
