Its basically a mini-flight of fear. Lots of special effects, a huge lift off, and lots of jerks, turns, and stops.

I was expecting a lengthy weight for this coaster, considering the stories I have heard. I only had to wait 20 minutes. Thank goodness. Much longer and it would not have been worth it. Very short, and nothing spectacular.

I am giving this a 7 based on a couple of things. One the length of the ride and the size of the cars. Luckly, the line wasnt bad, but I cant imagine what it wouldve been like. Plus the lenght of the ride is so short. I enjoy the "family" coaster and the special effects. I was pleasantly surprised at the launch. A decent ride, just not wonderful.

This was a very nice coaster. I was suprised that you get launch. The effects are nice. The ride is just to short for me. Thats why I give it a 8.

I really enjoy this coaster! If you only crave mega-coasters with extreme elements, you will not be impressed. But the rest of us will have a fun time on this unique, fun, and well-themed coaster. Everyone leaves the ride smiling, and that says more than anything. It is a great family ride with a little thrill element, and even has small moments of air-time. I think it is a wonderful new addition to PKI!

The Backlot Stunt Coaster at Kings Island is an incredible ride. It is exactly what it has always been billed as - a family launched coaster. It isn't particularly fast, or tall, or forceful, and the effects that once made it a "Don't Miss" have disappeared since its de-branding as The Italian Job: Stunt Track. Regardless, the ride is absolutely positively fun. The flames, the police cars, the dark sewer - it's truly a fun, engaging ride. Rider beware: It's short. It's a family coaster, and doesn't claim to be anything else. However, the helicopter, the flames, and the nicely-themed trains draw a crowd that almost surely is expecting something more. So the line will get pretty long. And unfortunately, this is one of those coasters that's absolutely incredible if you wait 10 minutes or less. If you wait a half hour or more, you WILL be let down. Hit it when the line shortens, and for best results, ride at night: the flames lighting up the sky, the lit-up street signs, the police sirens... It's a whole new experience.

Wow I was simply amazed in what this ride delivers. Its not that much of a thrill coaster but it is really fun and well worth the wait. The ride doesnt look amazing but it is so compact you feel like your really flying the the course. It could have been a little longer but you get so much in the short time your on the ride its well worth it.

Well, PKI fans have been waiting 4 years for a new coaster (5 years since the last major one) and Im glad to report that the wait was worth it. True, I can think of about a dozen other rides PKI could have added that I would have enjoyed more but this ride fits the Kings Island demographic perfectly. It is rideable for all memebers of the families from the hardcore thrill seekers to the beginners. The upward helix is the only intense part of the ride but the great theming makes up for the not-so intense layout. Overall, the ride is very, very fun. Kings Island has added a very exciting attraction to their line up which is clearly doing well seeing as I didnt see a line under 1 hr 30 min all day.

*P.S.* Note to PKI: Next time we go with steel, lets give a call to B&M or Intamin AG, and make sure it has a much bigger capacity than some of your other rides. Then, you may finally have a coaster worthy of dethroning The Beast.

I was glad that Kings Island FINALLY got a brand new roller coaster since nothing spectacular had been built in that deparment since Reptar which was mainly geared towards the kids. Anyways, I finally got the chance to go ride it and see what it was like for myself after a few weeks of its operation. Let me tell you, the capacity for this ride is horrendous. Sure, any new attraction will get extremely long lines but this was just rediculous. Then I remembered that these creative little Mini Cooper styled trains only could take 12 riders at a time and that day imparticular was terrible seeing that only one train was in operation. After waiting in that line for about an hour, I was getting more and more eager to try it out. I knew it would be nothing frightning as that is what it is not designed to do. It is a heavly themed ride based after the chase scene from the Paramount film the Italian Job. Within that hour of waiting I got to see a lot of the elements that the coaster contained and I also heard and saw a lot of the effects this ride had in store. Finally I found myself waiting at the front of the line and the line tenent assigned which row of the train you would sit in. I sat in the front car in the second row. The trains themself were quite comfortable and of course had only the need for the use of a lapbar which is similar to that found on the Flight of Fear seeing that this is from the same designer, Premier Rides. The cute little "Minis" even had their own little doors that the ride ops had to close for you. After they made sure everyone was locked in, "all clear" was called over the innercom and the 40mph launch sent the little train flying up a tight intense helix. In fact that thought to be slow 40mph launch was quite intense seeing you went up a helix at that speed. After the helix you dodged around a bit and went through the "streets". You soon found yourself in the area where the train stops and the helicopter "shoots" at you and real explosive and fire effects take place and even a little bit of water from "broken" pipes drip on you. The train launches off again and you go through the subway in total darkness and then find youself going through the billboard into the "splash" zone ( mind you you do not get wet its just a visual effect ) After that the ride concludes itself and you find yourself off sooner than you know it. Is the ride fun?? Yes, in fact it is fun. Worth the long wait? Only if you have never ridden it before but if there is a short wait ride it again and again because you will love it each time. Good ride? Yes it is, its a good addition to the park other than I cannot understand why Kings Island will not get the picture that they need another people eater like Vortex that has a higher capacity. The ride does in fact have three trains, but of the 2 times I have ridden it, I have found the 3rd train on the transfer track. I am not sure if there is a problem or not as I have heard, but if not they need to start using it because of the long lines. Overall, a great ride, fun for the family and has a great launch and great theming, but is just a little on the short side and needs the use of its third train to help ease up the long lines. With that, I give this cute little coaster an 8.
