When people review this ride, they forget where it was originally built. Back in 1964, It’s A Small World was at the World’s Fair in New York. Its original purpose was to show people from around the world that we are all really neighbors. In today’s high-tech thrill world people forget that rides don’t always have to reach high speeds and be intense for them to be cherished for ages. Although the ride was not very exciting, if you ride it you will hopefully realize the ride’s original intent and realize why Walt Disney chose to place it in Fantasyland. He hoped that young children would ride it so that in the future they would realize that hurting someone is like hurting your neighbor. In today’s world of fear and terrorism, I wish more people would ride It’s A Small World, think about what the ride is trying to say, and not complain about its excitement level. I wish that everybody would get a chance to really understand It’s A Small World.

I am crazy about this ride. I think when you ride you have to have the right frame of mind. For example: Everyone knows the song gets played over and over, deal with it, everyone also knows that is full of dolls, deal with it. It isnt going to be intense or scary, deal with it. This is just a typical classic Disney Ride. Look at it from the right perpective before bashing it. Millions of people have ridden this ride, that says something. If you dont like it dont ever ride it again, but everyone needs to ride it at least once. The costumes are beautiful. My only complaint is the very last section of the ride where the dolls are in white and they have pink and blue hair.. should have just left them natural. I also wish they would sing the entire song instead of the first verse... the second verse is much better!

It’s a Small World is one of those rides that people either love to death because of the cuteness of the attraction, or want it to be wiped off the face of the Earth because of the mind-numbing song repeated continuously throughout the attraction. Most people usually aren’t somewhere in between. And me myself? Well, I’m somewhat towards the middle, but I do lean closer to the group who isn’t really a major fan of the attraction.

Located in Fantasyland, this attraction truly epitomizes what Fantasyland is and really captures the gleeful, kid-friendly atmosphere that defines it. The exterior looks great and really playful from the outside, but while I’ve never actually been to Disneyland, from pictures this version unfortunately lacks the massive and elaborate exterior featured so prominently on that one. Typically I’ve found that lines for this are less than 5 minutes for the most part due to the ride’s absolutely incredible capacity. This ride just eats through crowds like Kobayashi eats hot dogs!

Once seated in one of the many pastel colored boats, riders can’t help but hear that infectious tune blasted throughout the entire attraction. I for one enjoy the catchiness and rhythm of the song initially, but five minutes into the attraction it quite frankly becomes mind-numbing. Also, regarding the scenes which some regard as a torture chamber, I really don’t despise the scenes, but I just really find them all that entertaining for the most part. I mean some of them like the final room are quite fascinating, but a majority of them just don’t really appeal to me. But despite how I’m not a big fan of the attraction, I definitely give props to Disney as the attention to detail featured throughout the attraction is top-notch as usual and the sheer amount of animatronics featured is just mind-boggling.

It’s a Small World is just one of those attractions that you just have to do while at Disney. There’s just something about it that compels me to reride it each visit, even though I quite frankly don’t enjoy it that much. While I personally as well as numerous others aren’t the biggest fans of this classic attraction, I nonetheless recommend you to give it a shot since the consensus on the attraction is pretty much half in half. Hey, you may like it…or be driven insane!

This is an OK ride, but its getting really old. Lines can be very long, too.

OMG! I hated it. The song is very painful and annoying except to some little kids. It was not that well themed and is not intense so its below average for me. Its a small world after all.

I loved this ride when I visited. Its a little bit long for a boat ride but the special effects and theming are great. I also like the music that plays along with it. Its a Disney classic and shouldnt be missed.

Its an ok attraction a classic Disney attraction Walt made.Good for preschoolres and people who are not into thrill rides.I found 11 minutes to be a little way to long.Small World has ben closed recently it will reopen sometime in 2005.It will have a better sound system, lights stuff like that. Its not a horrible attraction like other people say it is.If you absolutly have to go on small world it will be a good idea to bring a CD player and some headphones.
