What a ghetto old rollercoaster. I swear its being held by gum and duct tape lol. A little intense though.
This is the parks out and back coaster, but it wasnt as good as I had hoped. Most of the drops were devoid of air-time in the back-seat because they werent very steep, but in the front, quite a few hills gave some good air-time, but most of the hills unfortunately lacked air-time. Also, the ride was very smooth and rerideable.
The Tornado is a wooden out and back coaster that was built by William L Cobb Associates, Inc and designed by William Cobb/Don Rosser. It was built in 1977, It is 90 feet tall and 3,280 feet long. It has 2 PTC trains, with 4 6 seat cars. It delivers airtime, speed, and is alot of fun. Capacity good. Duration of ride is long. Rerideable. Appearance good.
Ok ride. Now... Make sure to put on your seatbelt because they do NOT check them. Being as dumb as I am... Didnt noticed the ride had them... I didnt have it on. It was a scary feeling. I felt like I was going to fly out of my seat. If you want to feel how I did... Then dont put on your seat belt. Have fun hanging on to your seat!
This is a good ride, but not the best. Appearence-8 I have to say that this ride looks old, with the paint chipping. Scenery around it is nice especially coming back under trees is cool. But on the way to the turnaround it looks like you will die with the track over you. Capacity-8 There is olny one train, but it does fine, if there on weekday may be able to walk on. And I like having seperate belts for you and whoever you are riding with compared to the Outlaw. Ride Quality-8 Great on way there and on way back feels good to, but I hate the turn especially if you are on the right seat. Fun-8 It was fun and I rode it more then once, but if you arent always sure about going on other roller coasters, you dont have to go on this, you wont miss anything. But I think you should ride it anyway.
This is a great example of an almost ride. It is almost really good, it almost has airtime, etc. APPEARANCE-8 Looks like an older woodie which is what it is. I like the entry which is between games and then follows a nice path to the station. CAPACITY-7 One train but great ops so that helps. RIDE QUALITY-7 The first half is very good the second half is well below average. FUN-6 Almost fun so it fits with the theme. RERIDE-8 Way better then the dragon and a solid coaster. I would skip if the park was really busy. OVERALL-36 AVG-7.2 A seven is a very accurate rating for this ride IMO.
This wooden coaster has seen some great days, but its still a classic. The Tornado still holds a position in most people top 20. Since 1978, its still the :king: of out & backs.
It is painful, but I agree, it is a very good ride.
I am partial to the ride, it being my first many years ago! Its a great ole grand out and back coaster with varying air time.
Hey, Its there, I rode it, I liked it but it doesnt draw me back to it like some of my favorites. Good ride, Just nothing special.
