Gotham City Crime Wave is a swing. It is average speed, fun, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
Since, I like the theming of this ride better than Whirlgig at SFGAm, I will give it an 8. With no theming, it gets a 7. However, Yo-Yos (unlike this) that tilt really nice get a 10.
The Crime Wave is a good set of swings. When it came to the park in 2004, I was glad that SFOG finally got a set of swings once again.. I used to love the Highland Swings that were removed a few years ago. The ride is nice, providing a good cycle. Though it lacks the cool footchoppers of some other swings, or the beauty of others, it is still pretty cool. The ride ties in well with the Gotham City theme with DC characters all over. The only bad thing about Crime Wave is that it is the only flat ride in the Gotham area, and is usually pretty popular. That, plus, the rides duration, result in typical long lines. I would recommend this set of swings to anyone, though only after hitting the two great coasters in the area. This is my 5000th post. I realized a while back that I was coming up on it and wanted to make sure it was a review. I also realized that I had never reviewed the Crime Wave, so I figured I would save it for this "special moment" seeing as it is the only ride at SFOG that I have not reviewed. Yay for me
This ride is not a very good Swing ride. The ride time is too short, and the height isnt that high. You can find better Swing rides at your county fair.
This is a fun, relaxing swing ride. Unlike some other swing rides Ive been on, this ride also tilts, so riders experience a few Gs. This is a great way to feel the breeze on a hot day. Most kids will have a blast on this ride, but Ive seen many of them turned back because of the 48 height restriction. The balloon ride on Carousel Hill is an alternative for kids that are too short to ride this.
