While I enjoyed this ride going forwards, I didnt care for it going backwards. Backwards was painfully rough to me. A lot of people on my train, including me, complained about the lapbars locking down too tightly mid-ride. On the bright side, the lines were incredibly short and fast-moving.
Wonderful piece of coaster history. So sad that the park put in those lousy new lapbars - I remember how much more fun it was with the old - anyone else remember those days? All in all, however, its still such a classic. Sweeping movement, the speed is just right, and theres plenty of airtime to be enjoyed. And let me tell you, I used to be a confirmed "backwards" enthusiast, but it took me some years to gain a real appreciation for the "forwards" trains. Both are great, but the latter really gives you such an incredible view. A true classic, and well worth the wait, even if the line seems a little longish.
A good ride if there is no line, but otherwise not too special. If you are racing, its only for about 1/4 of the ride.
Another cool racing ride. Not as good as Gemini, but fun.
This ride is old but good. The speed is decent and it not all that rough for an older ride.
Sure...its old...its rough, but its fun...especially backwards. I remember holding on so hard I locked up my hip. That hurt like heck, but it was fun!
A nice classic ride. It has many hills but little airtime still gives a good ride.
Great classic wooden coaster. But I agree with many backwards is the definate best on this ride!
This ride ushered us into the second golden age of coasters- and it deserves our respect! Nothing can compare to this classics nostalgic value, or good looks. Rain or shine this coaster delivers every time.
Sure, its an old coaster, but, you know what, classics never die! The Racer has some great airtime and actually gets to me more than any other coaster at PKI. Its a fun ride and the line is never very long.
