In my first two rides, the Son was nearly flawless, but then re-riding it twice more proved me wrong. It rattled me to death.. that is the only flaw however..wait..except for the slight hearing loss after experencing the lift chain...

My Favorite wooden coaster! Its fast exciting and never gives up! The loop is amazing and there is nothing like going 78MPH on a wodden coaster! I know many ppl are dissapointed in this ride but Im myself think it is the :king: of wooden coasters!!!

eh i find it not overly scary.. but to each thier own.

i didnt think it was all that bumpy. ive been on worse. the loop is neat, and the first drop is great.

Great ride. The only thing wrong with it was the chain hill, IT IS SOOOOO LOUD!!!!!!!! It was really rough when it first opened, but they fixed it and now it is the smoothest ride Ive ever ridden!

EDIT: I have decided to change my rating because I have now ridden it about 10 times and now can make a better judgement. About half the time it is a great, smooth ride, but the other half its like hell. Heres a tip, cross your legs! It makes the ride more barable if you get it in one of those harsh times.

Well, it is a cool looking ride, but I think once youre on it, its even better!! I dont know many if any coasters that start out with a 50 foot drop out of the station with a great turnaround! There seems to be a lot more airtime and a lot less braking being done this year on the midcourse, so the loop is much more intense and the grand finale much more forceful!! The first huge drop is one of the best on any coaster and while many people mistake the rides intensity for roughness, I can assure you that the park runs this top-notch thriller at its best and smoothest every single day!! Anyone who thinks the ride is rough, needs the think again. You should be ashamed you pretend to know anything about coasters. The Legend- rough or intense? Cyclops- rough or intense? Mean Streak- rough or intense? I think its obvious for all of them.

This ride deserves a 9 for its sure beauty. This ride is very intense. It is long and fast. It has some great hills and speed.. but no airtime!!! The length is incredible. The loop is smooth and big. Beautiful and fun ride!

Man, this is probably the WORST rollercoaster I have ever been on. In fact, its the only rollercoaster Ive ever gotten off and truely hated. What a piece of crap! I like rough wooden coasters, but Son of Beast is so rough that its almost unbearable! Mind you, I love Mean Streak at Cedar Point, which is considered to be a very rough ride. I have it a 2 for the loop, which was cool. Everything else was terrible. bigger, comfier trains might help, a little, but not much. What was PKI thinking??

Son of the Beast was kind of rough and annoying at times during the second and third turning drops, because they would vibrate a lot at the bottom. Besides that, the first big drop was so fun and the drop next to the loop and through the loop made all of the roughness worth it because those are two of the best parts on any coaster ever. Its almost as fun as Tomb Raider and The Beast, but since those are my favorites at the park, this gets a 9. My brother and I decided to go this weekend while it was raining and there were no lines at all! I decided to change my rating to a 10 since I finally got a feel for the ride and decided it really is as perfect as can be for a wooden coaster besides The Beast. Now I know why Kings Island is so popular by their wooden coasters and make sure you try seat 6-2 on SOB. I think it was the best and they let us ride over and over again! Great crew!
