No offense to the millions of people who LOVE this ride, but...man, it sure isnt worth the wait. This is the kind of ride that if you can run right on it, go for it. If theres more than a five minute wait, though, forget it. There are better things to do with your park going time. Its just that you get on and it brings you all the way up and yeah, theres a view, but it isnt a very remarkable one (maybe I was on the wrong side, though), I dont think, and then you drop and then thats it. Still, Id subject myself to this before Top Spin anyday. Just not real impressive.
This is a pretty good drop tower with a very nice view of my favorite place on earth (I was born in Pittsburgh)
However, the actual drop is mediocre in comparison to Drop Zone at PKD. Nonetheless, dont miss this great Intamin 2nd Generation
Its a very good drop tower with a good view of the area and park. It keeps you at the top for seems like an eternity and there is no set time to drop either which adds to the thrill since you dont know when its coming. It gives you good air time on the drop as well. If you visit KW be sure to ride this one. I ride it every time I visit even though Im a big fan of drop towers. The Pitt Fall is a vertical tower. It is fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
i think ive ridden this ride 4 ot 5 times and thats about it. i like it but i dont. i like the view and everything but i dont like that feeling in my stomach when it drops lol if i didnt get that feeling id ride it alll the time. its pretty good though, if u like that kind of thing.
Agree with dominator1 100% this ride shouldn`t be missed. The first time you go on it it`s a little scary (well for me it was)but after you go on it a couple of times it`s so much fun.And it gives you a great view of the park.
This awesome tower lifts you 251 feet high and then drops you until the magnetic brakes kick in at the bottom. It is really smooth, and you get a GREAT view of the park and the town around it.
The best seats are on the left of the park, next to the big gulley (from the waiting line: looking towards the river, its to your left), since you feel like youre even higher than you do on the other seats. When it opened in 1997, it was the tallest freefall in the world.
This is one of my favorite rides and shouldnt be missed!
A good drop ride, with great views of the town.
I really dont like tower rides, but I am giving this one an 8 because of the beautiful view you get while you are up there! The line is usually really long for this one, not worth the wait. I waited like 2 hours to ride this one the first year it was there, BIG waste of time!
I really dislike tower rides because they scare me to death but this one wasnt so bad. The climb up wasnt too bad because I think I had a brilliant view of Lost Kennywood. The drop was also fabulous and those magnetic brakes brought you to a very smooth, clean stop.
Awesome and simple. Rise up, enjoy view, an be dropped from a metal hook....No kidding!! A metal hook! No hydrolics, no air, just dangle up there looking at your car or the river or the Sky Coaster and all of the sudden **CLICK** youre dropping. Oh, and magnetic brakes!! NO AIR BABY. Makes it feel a tad smidgen more thrilling ad dare I say, unsafe. :-)
