Try to keep your eyes open and look through the wall of water that surrounds you when the boat hits the water. Id love to see an in-boat still shot at impact.

Pittsburg Plunge was the staple of Lost Kennywood when that area of the park opened in 1995. The one water ride at Kennywood where you are assured to get wet on, and in most cases, drenched! A perfect replica of the old-time shoot the chutes ride. Quite simple really: Boat is lifted 50 feet, turned around, and plunged into the lake below. Nice size wave and good soakage in any seat. Not the tallest of its kind, but still an excellent ride thats loads of fun! The setting for it in Lost Kennywood is truly marvelous!! (Many dont know that this was actually how the Old Mill ride used to end in its early days!)

Watching previous boats, my wife said "If we sit in front, we probably will not get as wet," so in front we sat. HOWEVER... we did not take into account that we were the only two people on the boat... meaning the bow was heavy and the stern was light. When we droped down over the hill, the front of the boat went deep and a wall of water just hung over us for what seemed like an eternity before it came crashing down on to us and we were soaked.
The location in Old Kennywood section of the park helps to make this one of the most picturesque rides around.

This ride will get you soaked!!! Great for when its hot out. The drop would be better if it were steeper. It is located in a visually appealing part of the park, which makes it a nice water ride.

This one is nothing special. It is not very tall and not everyone gets wet.

Like the sign says; "You WILL get wet!" A fun, if rather short, ride that is fun to just watch too! Perfect for a hot day!
