The Midway Carousel is a carousel. It is average speed, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration. It is nicely decorated and well maintained. It was built in 1915?, it is a DC Muller.
Cedar Points Midway Carousel is an excellent carousel that is a fine centerpiece for the park. The location to me is perfect as it is the first thing to greet guests who enter through the front gates. Thats just as it should be, because while coasters can be the heart of a park, I feel the carousel is a parks soul. This one is maintained wonderfully, as the horses are in fine shape with their very intricate carvings. The band organ sounds great, and the cycle is fairly long, so youre left with just about everything you could ask for from a carousel. This is definitely worth a few rides to channel that youth and have a great time aboard these tremendous horses on this winning carousel!
When your at cedar point and you want to ride a carousel, skip this and ride cedar downs racing derby.
Like the carousel at Six Flags New England, this historic ride has the potential to be great, but it is not. As at SFNE, this ride looks badly in need of a refurbishment. It also looked weirdly unauthentic in places, such as the concrete-like floor which I assume was wood originally. The informational placard spoke of a fine band organ and there was a bank organ sitting silently on the ride, but the park played only piped-in music when I was there. Finally, it is a minor point, but the placard says that it originally was in "a park in Massachusetts." For those of us who enjoy history, why not tell us what park that was.
A nice touch to the main midway. A classic part to any amusement park, but seemed a little out of shape when I rode it.
Well kept carousel with a good location. Thats all I can really rate them on and this does good at both. As I have spent more time reading reviews I have learned much more about them. This is a great example of a well maintained carousel, however I still give it huge points for the location right at the gate. That is where a carousel should always be IMO.
A beautiful carousel with some nice music and a nice location in the park.
A great carousel, and especially rare in that its a relatively intact Daniel Muller example (the outside row of horses has disappeared over the years). The carvings are beautiful, and the band organ is in tune. Unfortunately, the Frontier carousel (a really fine example) is now in Dorney Park, but, as they say, share the wealth...
This is a great carousel. The location is perfect, as it is right at the main gate.
This is a great end of the night ride. In the center midway you hear the screams of Demon Drop riders and its a carosaul, no park is complete without a carosaul.
