I love Mean Streak. Its a great ride to ride after getting off the CP& LE RailRoad. This is the longest rollercoaster I have ever been on at almost 4 minuets. Its rough and could be a little faster. Its still one of the favorites. Its a woodie so dont expect the smooth steel rides CP is known for. Show the Mean Streak some love!

Mean Streak is such a fitting name. However the brutality of this ride hides the fact that its a beast with a decent layout. I really do wish that it wasnt so rough because it has some potential, but in the end it does live up to its name. If you want a nice beating, take a ride on the Mean Streak.

Oh how I so badly wanted to LOVE this coaster. Alas, I cannot. Rode all over the train to be fair. Back seat and front seat were just no fun. Not mean and rough enough to be a good solid "kick my *ss coaster" (like BEAST and SOB), and theres no airtime on this thing whatsoever. The middle seats led for the best ride overall. The main problem here stems from the overbraking (especially on the drop hill). If this beast was unleashed, yeah it would be a "brutal ride" but I suspect in that fun kind of way. As it stands, this beast is like a tranqualized lion ... not really as wild and mean as it was ever meant to be. UPDATE: During 2003 Halloweekends, CP let this run without the trims on the 1st drop. The result? A FANTASTIC RIDE for most of this coaster. It had the roughness its supposed to have, that good kind of "kick your *ss" roughness, and even a shot of airtime (if you can believe it). Heres hoping CP learns from this type of experience and FINALLY lets the MEAN STREAK be MEAN.

Unlike others I didnt think Mean Streak was rough. A fun ride, but would be much better if it did not have the stupid trim brakes. Who puts trim brakes on a drop? That cost this coaster a point.

(A very, very high seven) I really enjoyed Mean Streak, but I have to admit the trim brakes were a big disappointment. Trim brakes at the bottom of the first drop? Insane! Its still a ride that I would recommend to anyone visiting the park.

This coaster is a major let down. I really love wooden coasters. When I saw this one I thought it would be great. It looks a lot like the Texas Giant which I thing is an amazing coaster. However, they have trim braked it to death. Now instead of getting those insane out of control moments of going in and out of the framework like on the Texas Giant. You get slow boring turns. They brake the first drop and it ruins that freefall feeling. Then, they practically stop you midride. How sad. If you want to ride a good large cyclone ride the Texas Giant.

Note: The last time I rode Mean Streak the trims had not yet been added, so my review is based on that experience.

Mean Streak looks amazing. The layout reminds me of that of the Texas Giant. The first drop is long and probably the best of any woodie Ive experienced. It then travels up a banked hill to the right and then travels up again to a banked hill to the right. The ride then heads up to turn around the lift, and then it seems to follow the outside of itself, diving in and out with a MCBR in the middle. Overall, I didnt find the ride rough but very enjoyable.

Oh, yeah - bring on the roughness. Maybe its because I ADORE the Coney Island Cyclone, but this Mean Streak was just my style. I love the way it weaves through its own framework, and really seems to "embrace" its own speed, especially in the turns. Cedar Point triumphs, again.

I got to ride Mean Streak recently and I think it was good! Sure, there are some slow spots but it is big and if you ride in the front, its not very rough at all. Plus I think it only seems rough because Cedar Point is mostly a web of steel coaster track and after riding all of their smooth steal coasters, Mean Streak might make you think it is rough but, it IS a wooden coaster and wooden coasters cant be perfect.

Spread the love! This is an increbile woodie. I have to admit I could feel the brake on the first drop, which could have been better but the remainder of the ride was really good. Not really rough at all, just a little rattly. A very good, long coaster.
