Who could give the Best Coaster in the World less than a 10?!
I loved this coaster. Millenium Force is better, but it is also a decade newer. Magnum has a great first drop plus gets tons of airtime over the bunnyhops. Another great aspect of the ride is its incredible views from the top.
Good first drop, and a nice turnaround, the tunnels are cool, and i like the neg. Gs on the way back to the station. A great night ride. The track after the brake run is odd though.
The first 2 drops are nice and offer good views of the lake, but after that I think the ride falls more on the boring side. Even though the bunny hills offer nice air they just dont really do anything for me. What can I say I am just not a big fan of this ride...just a little to boring imop.
Even though there seems to be a big backlash against Magnum on the internet, I refuse to jump on the bandwagon. This is still one of the best coasters in the world 12 years after its inception. Fantasic views, lightning speed, and airtime galore on the return trip.
How can you NOT give this classic a 10? Sure, MF might be the new big thing but the Magnum is still a great ride. And as CDCoolguy mentioned, it has a wonderful location.
A great ride with or without MF. A lot of airtime and a lot of fun. It has a great location too, running along the beautiful beaches of lake erie.
Horribly overrated. After riding MF, Magnum was just an incredible let down. In the backseat, it may not have been rough, but the airtime was not overly apparent. While Magnum must have been incredible in 1989, Intamin is now the king of the hyper.
The Magnum XL-200 is a steel sit down roller coaster. It is a hyper or non looping mega coaster. It was built in 1989 by Arrow it is 201' tall, it is 5,106' long. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration. It was the first coaster to break the 200' record.
The lake, the history, the speed, everything. Just a great ride. Everyone should ride it.
