Magnum paved the way for steel speed coasters today. It provides a great drop with lots of bunnyhills and three tunnels. Tons of airtime in the back seat, but be warned, you will get banged around back there a little more that elsewhere on the train. The second half of the turn around is very intense. This ride is a bit on the rough side for a steel coaster, but Im not going to focus on the negatives- Magnum is all about the airtime. Must ride.

Tied with The Beast and the Coney Island Cyclone as likely the most nostalgic coaster in existance and it is a real winner at the Point. The coaster takes the best of Gemini and rolls it up into new heights and even better effects, tunnels, and turnaround. The drops, swift speed and airtime, wind-in-your-face feel, and nearly perfect view of the lake are what truly bring the ride full circle into what is widely considered one of the simplest and at the same time most brilliant designs constructed for a steel coaster. Considered overrated by some now that B&M and Intamin have shown what they can do with hypers, but still riding high.

Plenty of hills and air, best coaster in the park.

When I first rode this hyper-coaster a long time ago I was a coaster fan. After I rode it I became a fanatic. This one is still one of the best. It has a wonderful view of Lake Erie.

The first time I rode this I didnt like it that much. But this time I did. First of all the line is never that long. The drop is soo much fun and smooth. The layout is perfect with tons of airtime. You can build a lot of anticipation up on the lift of this ride. The trains are kinda uncomfortable though. If Cedar Point could replace these trains with something more comfortable it would defenatly be a 10! The trains and the brakes are the only things bad about this ride. Overall nice ride.

I first rode this and thought 9, but that was mid-ride and then I experienced the "back" of the "out and back." And it Kicks! Thats the term for it, kick. Magnum is so great because you get a nice floaty sensation on the way out, and then after that 540 degree trun you get popped over and over agian. What a blend of zero G on the way out and negative G on the way back. Also, historical significance man, this 201/205 foot tall coaster (depending upon who you ask[people today think its 205 but an old CP brochure said 201]) was built in 1989 and it still great. First ride to top 200 and still staying strong as it goes into its 14th season of operation at Cedar Point on May 5. Get to Cedar Point and ride this ride!

Still my favorite steel. The air in the rear on the bunny hops is unreal.

The original prankster.....Magnum was not only a trendsetter, it has maintained its status as one mean coaster. I love riding this ride. It has an awesome view of Lake Erie and gives plenty of air time.

Great coaster, tons of air, but not quite the best.

Although the oldest hyper, it is still the best! Apollos Chariot comes close, but theres something about Magnums feel that makes it better. The speed never drops off throughout the ride and the return hills are a airtime lovers paradise. I never really thought Magnum as rough, except in the front row. Still the king of hypers.
