The first time i rode this i was not impressed at all. the drop was good as was the second, but the bunny hills returning to the station hurt my thighs. But the second time i put the lap bar down tighter and sat a different way and the ride was fantastic, you get great airtime, but the air time in the tunnels is by far the best. Plus the view is excellent.
Great airtime and great location. Bunny hops in tunnels provide awsome fun. Knocked my hip out of its socket though. If it wasnt so rough, Id give this ride a ten.
Smaller than MF but a better layout overall. I really like this one. Tons of air time and a great way to turn a round as well. A must ride!
Great first drop. The bunny hills offer extreme air. Only problem is the uncomfortable trains.
Magnum is a tremendous coaster, and it is soooo close to being my favorite hypercoaster. The setting near Lake Erie is perfect, and I just love that slow, steady climb up that first hill....what a view!! The first drop (nearly 200 ft.) is excellent and so is the 2nd. Magnum has nice speed throughout the ride. The pretzel turnaround is quite unique! The bunny hills and tunnels give great pops of airtime (anywhere in the train) and give the ride a nice finish. Still like Phantoms Revenge a little better (more airtime, comfier trains, slightly smoother), but Magnum is right there. A coaster classic for sure!! Best of all, the lines are fantastic, usually no more than 30 minutes at any one time (its a walk-on before noon!!). The so-called "roughness" that some complain about is so minor that its not worth deducting points from Magnum (suck it up riders!) A must-ride for any coaster fan!! One of the best around!!!
Well, I dont think much of this Arrow, now that Ive ridden it. I absoloutely hate the lap bars, as you tap them and they fall right into your groin. That about killed the ride for me, and I dont get the Arrow bunny hops, aka pyramids. Another wacky design, which didnt do much for me. I didnt have a very smooth ride, but nothing to really complain about.
This is in my mind the best coaster in the world. I loved the big drop and all of the hills and air time I got. I also like that the line was so short. only 30 min.
The most overrated ride in the world has to be Magnum. I mean what is soo great is not that smooth, the drop is nothin special to ne hyper coaster and the lapbars are extremly uncomfortable. I am not saying I hate this ride but it is nearly one of my favorites. It does not come close to comparing with MF and I hate it when these travel channel specials rank it over MF To me it is just pretty average..hence the 6 rating.
Being a rather large fellow, air time is not as much fun for me. Its more of a violent shaking than a thrill. Magnum has speed and it is excellent in its lack of unneccesary restraints. Look Mom, No Hands! Ill take the first drop the helix and the tunnel...you can have the rest.
Although it came first, I feel as though this is Millenium Forces little sib. It is difficult to call this my second favorite coaster, though, so Ill say its tied up with MF. After so many years of riding this beast--and I mean that in a good way, my fervor for the Magnum XL-200 continues to grow. The first drop never ceases to bring me absolute thrill, the preztel makes me giggle, and the bunny hills give great airtime. Even on rough days, Magnum gets a 10 from me.
