Millennium Force features an impressive looking lift hill, a decent first drop, speed, and not much else. The relentless speed gets monotonous, and there are really no stand out moments. The airtime is positively anemic on this coaster. And the first drop really isnt as great as it should be. Ive been on a few 200 foot coasters with far more intense drops. Its a fairly fun ride overall, but not a top coaster to me.
This is one incredible coaster. From the start when it takes you ALLLLLLLLL the way up that big hill to the very end with the little hops next to the entrance its non-stop excitement.
Great coaster! When I went to CP I took one look at it and turned away, but it was me and my friends, so I just did it. So after like 1 hour and a half, we were ready to get loaded on. I sat down and I jus wanted to get this thing over with, so the cable lift came and we started to go up. So like 45 secs latter, or thats how long it seemed liked to me. So I was excited to find out that within seconds, we have gone down the first drop. Its really fun, lots of turn and drops, we must have gone on the ride like 3 times more that day.
Great ride!!
I LOVED this ride. Only one thing wrong, the ride operator told me to put my glasses in my shirt so I did. On the third hill they flew out of my shirt and I have not seen them scince. It was still a fun ride.
I went to CP and rode this over the summer. Before I went on, I wasnt a big coaster fan and was afraid to ride it. My dad HAD to ride it, so I dragged along with him. For such a huge ride, it line only took about an hour. Once we sat in the car, I noyiced how little there was- seats, floor and rather small restraints. Next thing I know, the cable lift went WAY back and freaked me on. By the time we were at the top, I had said at least 100 prayers. I strained to keep my eyes open down the drop but it was well worth it. I loved the overbanks and tunnels. This ride made me crazy about coasters and I loved every second of it.
So Like this is the best roller coaster ever!!!!
Why you all may ask well go ride it and you will find out!
This ride is very fast. The location of the coaster gives great views of Lake Erie. That first lift hill is very tall and it is an unbelievably quick ride to crest it. 2 fantastic tunnels, comfy trains, and quick loading all combine to make this one of the best steel coasters around.
Awesome! This is my 2nd favorite coaster! The lift hill was really fast, which made it creepy! The airtime is amazing! The turns are the closest to going upside down as you can get! This is an amazing ride! A MUST!
There is a lot to like about this ride. Like on El Toro, the cable lift is fun and unique and speeds up the wait time. The track speed and pace of the ride are both tremendous. The ride is smooth and comfortable. The load time is quick. Like the similar Superman Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England, it is fun from beginning to end and it slows down at the final stop much less abruptly than SROS (which is a good thing). The lighting is very good -- both the orange within the station and the multicolors on the track at night. My complaints (and the reason it is "only" my fifth favorite ride) are that it does not have as good airtime as some other large coasters (such SROS, Nitro and El Toro) and does not have as interesting a design/track layout as SROS.
I wanted to hate this ride. Really. I did. I wanted to be among the ranks of those coaster enthusiasts who brush Millennium Force off as an overrated pile of scrap metal. Well, I just couldnt find it in myself to hate this ride. Though I agree this ride is indubitably unworthy of the title "Best in the World", it is still deserving of high praise.
The elevator lift was great and brought back several memories of EL Toro. Its amazing how incredibly fast you reach 300 feet on this thing. Then comes the first drop. Nothing spectacular in my opinion, but it does gain the necessary speed to make the rest of the ride relentless. Basically, this ride is all about the speed. Usually, I am more concerned with airtime for my top coasters, but the undying speed of Millie was fantastic. Factor in sitting front row, and you have almost 3 minutes of ripping intensity that not many other coasters can stand up against.
But Millennium Force has airtime to offer. On the second hill, there is some decent floater airtime to be had. Not anything epic, but still pretty good. I found the overbanked turns on the island to be a lot more forceful than I expected. The third drop after the series of overbanks was probably one of my favorite parts of the ride for the strong floater air, border-line ejector air it produced. Definitely wasnt expecting that.
The defining moment of Millennium Force, however, is after exiting the final tunnel. The airtime hill that follows is insane, and was the moment that locked Millie into my Top 5.
Overall, Millennium Force does not live up to the "Worlds Best" title, but it is still a great ride nonetheless. From start to finish, the rides speed never lets up. Maybe some of you will call me a sell-out. Perhaps I will be accused of being a CP fanboy...but no matter the consequences, I just had to make Millennium Force my #3 coaster.
EDIT: Ive changed my rating to a 9 after reriding Millie this past weekend. Seemed much weaker than my first ride on it, and the Intamin vibration certainly is setting in. Millie has taken an undeniable backseat to Maverick for me personally
