The Screamer disappointed me, especially after hearing some call it a nice ride. I didnt get any air and my knees got tired of scraping on the cars REAL quick. The ride was still fairly fun, I always have a special affection towards portable rides, but still it was only drops and left turns...
The Scandia Screamer was built by Miler, the company that brings temporary coasters to fairs. The Screamer has a very similar set-up to these coasters, with the drops and unbanked turns, except that it is quite a bit larger and longer. This coaster is actually quite an impressive sight as you drive by this family fun center on the 15 freeway. The Scandia Screamer is a triple out-and-back coaster, with the first circuit-and-a-half being rather large drops. The last half of the ride involves smaller rabbit hops that actually give decent airtime. The initial climb up the lift hill and the turn around at the top before the first drop are very rickety and extremely slow, which give the impression of a pretty lame ride coming up. It is surprising that the ride is actually as fast, fun, and forceful, without being excessively rough, as it is.
Riding this ride was an experience. It is a shaky coaster, and rough around the turns and hills. The seats are a bit uncomfortable. The whole ride needs an overhaul.
The Scandia Screamer aint all that. The seats and restaints are a little uncomfortable and the overall ride is a little rough. This is a pretty sizable coaster for such a small park, and is (arguably) the best ride there, but its not as exciting as it might orginally appear.
You cant help but be a little surprised when you first see this roller coaster. It is taller than youd imagine with great looking drops and hills. My initial reaction was that it was a giant Zyklon or Wildcat.
The ride was a bit rough. The first hill was very tall for a coaster of "this sort". The first drop was huge and we really were expecting a shaky ride. Instead it was solid. The drops were decent but sloped in a way that had the potential to crunch the spine. Nice head chopping elements were included as were bunny hills at the end of the course. Not a spectacular coaster, but, as the ACE guide states, "unique".
In my opinion this is the best simple, nobody knows about coaster. The drops are decievingly steep and in the front you get numerous powerful pops of airtime before turns and on some bunny hills.
