This ride is now called the Eruptor, but I think when it was the Round Up it was better
I havent ridden a round up for a while and I found that this one played a little havoc with my stomach. I was happy when it was over and I remained vomit free. For that alone it is worthy of an 8. I rarely get that sort of effect from a ride.
A pretty small-sized Round-Up ride, in that it didnt have a huge diameter. This normally makes the rotating more intense, yet this ride was surprisingly more sort of pleasant. I think the reason for this was that, ordinarily, the platform spins around while level for a while. This is usually the most sickening part of the ride. Once the ride tilts upward, the swooping up and down motion comes across as less intense. The Round-Up at Oaks Park spent no time spinning at a level position. It immediately tilted upward and did the entire ride that way. Therefore, there was nothing to make anyone sick, and I could almost go so far as to call this ride relaxing. Kind of unusual for a Round-Up.
I only gave this ride a 7, because for me its a bit boring. As an operator of almost all the rides, at this park I have operated the Round Up, quite a bit. The kids love it, as well as some of the adults. For them I think they would rate it a 9. The most popular age range for this one seems to be 8 to 13 years old. Be careful what you eat before going on this one.
This was such a great ride. Probably because it was my first Round-Up ride.
