This ride somehow makes waiting 2 hours in line just for less than 30 seconds of ride time not only seem completely worth it but worth doing over and over and over...

What an experience. This launch ride has ruined every other launch ride I have been on, because nothing compares. If you have not been on this ride, when you step in line for this one, there is no doubt that you are in for a solid wait. Though I usually complain about something like that, for me it really heightens the anticipation. Having the queue between the tracks makes it impossible to ignore the speed, power, and height of the ride. You get to hear all of the screams as the train launches and all of the laughs and high 5s as the train returns. When you finally get on and get strapped in, you will probably notice two things. Looking down, you probably will see that you dont seem straped in that well with only a seatbelt and lapbar (dont get me wrong, I know no one will ever fall out). When you look up, you finally realize you are going to soon be going up that massive tower. Im getting a little nervous now just thinking about it. When you slowly pull up to that light tower, you can start to feel you heart about to jump out of your chest. When it finally hits green all of the waiting is over and it is time to go. And man does TTD go. Im more of a coaster laugher than screamer, but this one makes me scream like a girl. The transition from sitting upright to laying down is so comfortable and fast, I barely noticed it happened. Then only breather on this ride is slowly rolling over the apex looking out upon the lake. Then its time to scream again if you still have any breath. Everyone insults the length of this ride, but a drag race is over in 4 seconds, and by my discreet count while waiting it lasts 11. It is themed as a dragster, and I think it gives you a lot better than a dragster thrill. For extra fun, sit in the bleachers and heckle the people on the ride or just watch if you are not the type to razz people. A great ride and a solid #2 for me on my favorites list.

I finally got back out to Cedar Point, with one sole purpose in mind - to ride this behemoth of a coaster! I know that some people dont hold TTD in the highest regard, particularly because of its length, but for me this ride hits the mark dead on. And I think its really cool that different folks have differing views on this coaster....I was wondering myself where Id fall in the mix of reviewers. From the ground, this thing is jaw-dropping. Standing at the base of the tower and looking up really gives you a look at how high this monster is!!

The ride sensations themselves are almost indescribable! The launch is unreal and increibly powerful. Then comes the vertical/turning climb up to 420 ridiculous feet, where you pause just long enough to let out a big "wahooooo!" or simply wet yourself once you realize how high you are. Looking down on a 310-foot coaster is just amazing. Theres even some airtime (not always, but most times) as you crest the summit. The spiraling freefall that ensues is the sickest drop I have ever experienced, period!! Then you fly across the finish line and the train erupts in cheers! Fantastic!

To those who disagree and say the ride is too short and not complete, well, I respect that viewpoint and realize that the ride is not everyones cup o joe. However, I am of the belief that this coaster IS complete. The short length of the ride fits in perfectly with the theme of a drag race. And the whole Dragster midway and theming is wonderful! Anytime you go by the area, people are in the bleachers or standing by looking in awe or saying "There is no way in h@#% I would ever do that!" So, to me, the atmosphere that TTD produces completes the package. Just my opinion, but regardless, this coaster is something every thrill seeker should experience at least once. For me, for now, this is the top of the heap for roller coasters I have ridden!!

This is not a ride to be missed. Recommended mostly to those seeking a (huge) rush, and not for the faint of heart. The feeling you get in the initial launch is just indescribable. You have to experience it yourself. The part where I really scream is when youre 420 feet up looking STRAIGHT down to the ground. Ho-ly #*&@. When Im in the train in launch position, I find myself bouncing in my seat, giggling with anticipation. Few rides do that to a person.

The downtime detracts from the ride a bit. Even the employees admit Dragster was built before the technology was perfected, and theyre the ones who have to face the ire of impatient patrons (according to one poor soul, people actually throw objects at them sometimes). The ride is also incredibly short - if you want a more true roller coaster experience with the rush, Millennium Force is the one for you.

Be warned: on rainy days, the line will take longer than usual due to how exactly placed the launching train must be, and how hard it is to get the train into that place when the train wheels are wet. ¬_¬

This ride is unique. More than that, it is uniquely insane. I was reluctant to get in line, wait a hour, then proceed to have less than 30 seconds of a ride. Well, It turns out that I got in line, and from that point on, decided that I would ride this thing if its the last thing I do. The wait wouldnt have been too bad if not for the fact that it broke down for 1/2 hour. It probably didnt set me too far back considering that atleast 15 min worth of people in front of me left the line. Anywho, I get to the station and go to the shortest line which happens to be in the third car back. I like the MF restraints so obviously I liked the ones here. I was amazed at how little time you were given from when you leave the station until you launch. As Im waiting for the thing to launch, I wasnt sure if I was going to lose control of my bladder, or start laughing. It was pitch dark, (10:30 PM) so I was kind of out of it. Well, all I can compare the launch to is Storm Runner. The biggest difference being that this was sustained much longer. The sense of speed is just mind numbing. As you shoot up towards the sky, you really cant tell where you are until you crest the hill. I found that there was a suprising ammount of speed/airtime over the hill. Theres a nice view for a couple of nanoseconds, then you fall. This is the best part of the ride. You cant see the ground which is blocked by the twist. It is just total weightlessness. The twist seemed insignificant, but I believe it still added something to the drop. Once again, you get that crazy feeling of speed as you cross the finish line and the brakes try to rip your eyes out of your head. I dont really know how to compare this ride to the likes of MF and Apollos Chariot. No matter how people see this ride, as a great thrill or an overrated ride that is too short, I believe that everyone should ride this at least once in their lives. With the crazy launch, and the awesome drop, TTD gets my vote as best ride in park. It may not have a lasting value, but for now, MF just comes up short to this giant.

APPEARANCE-7 Other then its incredible height I dont like how it looks. The paint is really faded, the que is annoying and it sort of looks tacky with the rest of the park. CAPACITY-9 Only the delays keep it from a ten. The trains load quick and CP reputation as the capacity king is still going strong. The way they move riders is just amazing. RIDE QUALITY-6 Way short and you could feel the car slow down before it starts up the hill. I also found the twist to really take away from the drop. On the plus very smooth pretty comfortable, I just liked the opening element of Stormrunner a lot better. FUN-7 Suprisingly not very fun. Sure it offered a thrill, but I am not a thrill lover, I am a coaster lover and this is not really a ride so much as thrill. I am glad I did it, but I definately wanted more. Heck I gave Stormrunner a 9 and that offered a lot more then this. RERIDE-5 I would never wait through that line again on my own, I would have to be with someone who has never rode it and even that would not guarantee me a second trip. I waited 90 minutes which I know is not bad, but I would not do that again. OVERALL-34 AVG-6.8 I will go the 7. I guess here is a little more since I know this review will get raked acroos the coals. It was very fast and kind of exciting, however it had no real fear like some first time rides do, it offered no real fun like MF did when I rerode it. For me it just didnt really excel in any area. I am not surprised by my rating since I live with 4 hours from the park, but this is the first time I have been there since TTD opened. For all those who loved it thats great and I can kind of see why, however for me if this is the future of coasters, I would much rather live in a wood filled past.

This is the most intense ride ever! Each time I ride this, the launch scares me. No matter what, each time. I think that I know what its like, and it wont be scary, but it is, each time. You get in, and each time (unless you are first train of the day) there is a train in front of you taking off. Right when you see it, you are scared! You pull up to the Christmas Tree, and you hear "Arms down, head back, and hold on." Thats when you feel that there are over 1000 butterflies floating around in your stomach. You slowly move back a few feet, and then you see the lights go. Yellow, yellow, yellow, GREEN! You shoot 120 mph up the 90° vertical spiral, and you are at the top of the 420 foot tower looking at Millennium Force and Lake Erie. And, let me tell you, that is pretty scary when you look down at something 310 feet tall. Then, after your amazing view, you go 400 feet down a 270° Vertical Spiral, pass the finsih line, and then, your amazing ride on Top Thrill Dragster is complete. And, the only thing you can do is catch your breath, and then applaud this steel structure.

When I got off this ride, all I could say was "wow". From the ground, it doesnt look that fast or that high. But when that thing launched, I couldnt believe the speed. It was definately worth the one hour wait.
