A good, but not great ride. The way it winds around other rides is very cool, and the helix before the drop was interesting. The end of the ride kind of peters out, as it seems that you just roll about 500 feet to the brake run.

I visited Hershey yesterday. I rode this 2 times. The Raptor at Cedar Point and Batman SFGA hurts my head! Not this one. It was fairly smooth and I got a little light headed only from the inline rolls. After the helix from the lift, it is non stop speed. The loops on this are just like any other loops on other coasters. What makes this unique is that it is built over walkways and close to other rides. I did not give a 10 because it is fairly short.

Not one of the most thrilling inverts I have rode, but it still has quite a bite to it. The Scheer lay-out is astounding, aspecially because it goes through a lot of rides and paths. But my trip to the coaster was what gave it such a good rating. First trip to Hershey Park, I got to it, but broken down. Right when I leave the park, it opens. I was devisated. hype level- 50%. Second trip, it was perfect out, nice and sunny. Got to the ride near the middle of the day, monsoon rainstorm hit us and shut down everything in the park, including my hopes of riding such a great looking ride. The monsoon stopped, and I was like, whoa, theyre opening the ride. Hype level-100%. I was on the first train after the shut down, and it was great! The helix drop felt perfect, coming over the water, it felt like we hit the lake because of the rain water splashing me. The inversions were perfectly smooth, and with such a force for being so small, I felt like I was in total bliss (though something was up with the barrel roll, does anybody know what im talking about?) The rain water made this rdie feel like I was on Roller Soaker, but better! Though my hype level was disappointed by being a little overrated, I must say that this is a very fine coaster to the Hershey Park, and is highly recommended to anyone who hasent ridden a looper or invert yet, due to its tame yet forceful nature. Very good, though not excellent.

One of the better inverted coasters, but not as good as Batman or Dueling Dragon. Still good though.

I love inverts. I was going to subtract a point for the waste of space helix at the start, but realize it is there to give the ride a way to turn around. For those who dont know Hershey Park is fairly small for a park with this many coasters and some of them have to run next to or under others. I think the Immelman and zero-g rolls are my two favorite overall elements and they are both here.

Great Bear is only the 2nd B&M inverted coaster that Ive ridden. The only other one I have been on is Batman at SFGAdv. It was an enjoyable ride, but I think I was expecting a lot more. Im sure the 50 minute wait didnt help my opinion either. The ride definitely has some nice elements. The drop into the helix after the chain lift is a nice change of pace from the usual B&M turning drop. The immelman loop was very cool and the inline twist to the LEFT was cool. Most, if not ALL of the inline twists / barrel rolls Ive been through have been to the right. The main problem I had with this ride was that it lacked the B&M tight and forceful feeling. Still, I give them credit. Looking at the layout, I can see that they really had to do some engineering to fit this ride where it is. Just look at the shape of some of the supports over the water. Also, look at where the track passes over the main walkways near the Superdooperlooper. This ride is fun, just like all B&M coasters and I give the park a lot of credit for their creativity with where they placed this ride. Its worth going on if the wait is not too bad. I put both Storm Runner and Lightning Racer above this one.

A nice midsized inverted coaster, perfect for Hersheys demographic. Surprisingly intense and fast for its size. Coming close to the midway, Sooperdooperlooper, and a lake adds a major punch of originality to this coaster. A must ride for anyone at Hersheypark and it usually has a fairly short line so go ahead and enjoy as many laps on this ride as you want but dont get too caught up in Great Bear, after all, your not going to want to miss Lightning Racer, Wildcat, and Storm Runner.

This is one of the best inverted coasters in the world. I just wish it was longer.

To me, this is the best inverted steel coaster in the north-eastern region of the US. It uses its sorrounding rides and nature to create an added thrill. But I dont know how this rides gonna hold up with Storm Runner Commin in to town!
