wwwwwaaaaaaayyyyyyy too bumpy, even for a wooden coaster. if they fixed the bumpyness a little it would be a better ride

you never rode this ride, its the only ride from Kennywood youve reviewed, in fact the only Pennsylvanian coaster youve reviewed. Just like with Twister 2 and SRoS, YOU NEVER RODE THE COASTER! His votes should be thrown away. Expecially since the Thunderbolt is very smooth for a wooden coaster.

I cant really comment on the Thunderbolt. Unfortunately when I visited Kennywood the TB was closed because of some last minute work on Phantoms Revenge. They had part of the TB taken apart near where the PR goes under it at the bottom of the second hill. It was a big let down, but I was able to ride all the coaters except for TB. Now I have a reason to make another visit.

yep

The Thunderbolt actually was threatened to be closed all year because of land problems.

Lighten up a little. Dont bash the person and accuse them of lying because they didnt like the ride. To people spoiled by the Cadillac ride of todays steelies, a great old fashioned, rattle your teeth and bones, toss-you- around woodie with a nice loose lap bar and no belts may not be to their liking. To each their own. When I was a kid they had a ride at Rye Beach (Playland, NY) that we thought was the greatest. They put four or five kids (no sane grownup would get in) in a round car with no belts, little padding, and a cheap chain across the boarding entrance. The car was then whipped around in a circle until everyone was squashed on the outside. Then the car was released from the arm spinning it and you crashed your way through a tunnel, bouncing off the walls until you came to a stop. Too rough? Not for hard core fanatics, but it was for most. Everyone has their own threshhold of where fun ends and discomfort or pain begins.
Its okay for someone to disagree with us on the rating of the T-Bolt. Thats their right.

Hey oldman, THAT sounds like a fun ride. Is Playland worth a visit ? I heard they have a great haunted darkride.

Hi xDisney, unfortunately Rye Beach had a fire many years ago (I think in the late sixties or early 70s) and a lot of the neat old stuff got destroyed, including an old walk through fun house. I dont know if the fire destroyed this ride, but it was gone by the mid-seventies. If the fire didnt get it the lawyers would have forced its closure by now. There were some neat old rides in the "old days" and fortunately we can still ride some of the classic woodies. If you want to get a taste of some of the old rides, try Knoebels, Lake Conneaut or any of the small independent parks. But dont wish for the good old days because there were no coasters to compare with todays steelies.
