the man of steel is the bomb, but people, the millennium focre is better, the man of steel and the force are close, but in my mind, the forces gets 10.0,and man of steel gets a 9.9999999999999999999.the force is not only a drop,it gos to the max that a giga coaster,or hyper coaster can go.the speed on the force, makes man of steel less appealing, but the continuious drops and the water makes man of steel the bomb, but,i was watching discovery channel, and the pros rate force no.1 and steel no 5.you rate it yourself.thanxs for reading, comment anytime

Park World Magazine just voted S:ROS number one coaster on the planet for a second year in a row, and I agree. MF has a higher first drop, but S:ROS has the layout.

Anyone know when S:ROS will reopen to the public? Its been over two weeks since my last ride and Im definitely feeling symptoms of withdrawl.

By downloading a front seat ride and studying the pictures. The layout does not even come close to SROS good.

he most likely rode it.

ITS OPEN, ITS OPEN, ITS OPEN!!!!! Woke up one hour ago, looked over at the morning paper, and right there with a color picture it said the words Ive been waiting for: Superman Ride Of Steel Reopens!!! Im going today!
PS. To those of you in the Height versus layout debate. I havent had a ride on MF but a friend who I trust has. He told me MFs first drop was great, but he found the rest of the ride down right BORING. So I still say MF has the drop, but S:ROS has the layout.
XtremeFan8 on 8/19/2001 1:17:25 PM said:
well whoever said that ride is boring must have not been on it! MF is way better than SROS- MF is faster and has better airtime!

Ah...So because their opinion differs from yours, they havent been on it? Interesting point of view, to say the least. Being completely serious here...Xtremefan, how old are you? I ask out of pure curiosity.

MF has more Airtime?!? BULL!! I checked! it has 3 moments, SROS has 6!!!! double it! so stop making up crap!

Guys calm down. Im sorry, I didnt mean to start a war here. And I didnt mean to imply that I think Millenium Force isnt a great ride, Im sure it is. You cant drop 300 feet and not enjoy it if you love coasters. All Im saying is a friend of mine didnt think much of it. His girl friend, who is much more easily impressed, felt the same way. I tend to trust their judgement. But just because I trust them and they werent that impressed by MF doesnt mean others wont love it, we just like different things. For me, I think the layout is extremely important. Look at the SFNE Cyclone. Its possibly the most important woodie of the 1980s, if for no other reason than so few woodies were being built then. Bill Cobb designed it to ride like the classic twisters of the 1920s, only on steroids. It drops FAST, slows down around a curve while keeping you apprehensive, drops fast again, slows down again but still still keeps you upset, then dives again at high speed and tosses you around in the structure of the coaster over cool bunny hills and around tight curves. A REALLY COOL AND SCARY RIDE!
Does it do this because it has the second tallest hill in the world? NO! Matter of fact its first drop was reprofiled this year, making it more shallow. Guess what, its still a great ride because Bill Cobb created a great layout. Many great designers feel a coaster should tell a story like a play, with an opening act etc. My friends who preferred S:ROS to MF feel that Superman tells the better story, and thats because of the way the layout was designed.

I find it interesting that I recently read a post in the rants and raves forum where someone here was complaining about people who talk about MF when they havent ridden it. I find it more interesting that this same person is talking about SROS even though they have said that they have never ridden it. :/ Very interesting indeed.

You said "well whoever said that ride is boring must have not been on it! MF is way better than SROS- MF is faster and has better airtime!".
Try reading the part where you say that it is way better than SROS and has better airtime. I know that it is faster since that is part of the specs of the ride.
Im just making an observation. Im not the one who said it.
