Review of Yo-Yo @ Seabreeze Amusement Park

Swing rides can be broken down into two categories- wave swingers and the Chance yo-yo style swings like Seabreeze’s installation. Unfortunately, I often prefer the wave swinger variety rather than the Chance versions. Located towards the back of the ride section of Seabreeze, the Yo-Yo looks no different than the typical Chance Yo-Yo. With a rather bland paint scheme, the only great aspect in the ride’s appearance is the ride’s impressive light package. Due to the ride’s mammoth capacity, the Yo-Yo appeared to be a walk-on all day. When I decided to give it a whirl, it was no different. As with most swings, the Yo-Yo had rather slow loading and of all the attractions at Seabreeze, the Yo-Yo definitely had the longest load time.

As for the ride itself, it didn’t really stand out in any way. While not as fast as some other versions, the Yo-Yo still produced a good breeze, which was an excellent way to dry off a bit after riding Seabreeze’s drenching Log Flume a couple of times in a row. Sadly, this version did not tilt like most of the other Chance swingers do; however, Seabreeze compensated for this with an incredibly long cycle that seemed to be at least 3-4 minutes in duration.

Overall, the Yo-Yo was one of the weaker attractions I rode at Seabreeze. With that being said, it was by no means an awful attraction. Rather, it just did not stand out like several of the park’s other attractions, or from any of the other swingers that I have been on. Due to the ride’s long duration and the fact that it always appears to be a walk-on, fans of swing style attractions should definitely consider giving the Yo-Yo a whirl in a visit to Seabreeze.
