Review of Dark Knight @ Six Flags Great Adventure

My first "new for 2008" coaster was a pretty good one. The ride felt faster than your traditional wild mouse, do to it being dark and apparently, had very little braking. The trains were "bigger" than traditional mouse trains, but you could still feel pretty good lateral Gs. I can only hope that SFGAd continues to run low on the brakes for this new attraction as the years go on. The themeing was good, but not really mind-blowingly spectacular. My favorite bit of themeing was right at the top of the lift, where there was an arrow that pointed to the left, and the train then executed a lateral-heavy right-hand turn. I also liked at the end of the pre-show when all the “HAHAHA” lights appeared in the room. It really seemed to scare the crowd. This ended up being my favorite Wild Mouse, a breed that I usually like anyway. Overall, if Six Flags is going for families over thrills these days, Dark Night is a viable replacement for the unreliable Chiller.
